SCHOOL’S (ALMOST) OUT!

Summer Programs for Kids: A Handy Guide

1. AR Workshop

If you have a crafty child or one with artistic aspirations, don’t miss the summer program at this darling DIY studio. Half-day and full-day programs run from June 20th through August 25th and feature different weekly themes. Every day at AR Workshop is different—from canvas pillows to plank signs to paint & string art, your child is sure to channel their inner Picasso … and have fun doing it!

Why we love AR Workshop: Unlike the countless art projects filling up your drawers and cabinets, the finished projects are wonderfully display-worthy. Whether it’s wall art for a bedroom or a Lazy Susan for mom’s holiday gift made in advance, these are undeniably items you’ll want to keep out—maybe even on a pedestal.

2. Code Ninjas

Whether you have a child who is simply interested, or completely obsessed with technology, Code Ninja is the place to be this summer. Guided by a team of “Code Senseis”, kids are empowered by gaining valuable tech skills while making new friends. Weekly programs run the coding gamut from Stop Motion Animation to Becoming a YouTuber to 3D Design & Printing to Moviemaking with Minecraft, and so much more. Each week features a different morning and afternoon session, so kids have the option to do one or both in a truly inspiring environment.

Why we love Code Ninjas: We can’t think of a better way for kids to dip a toe into what the future looks like. And to do so in a fun, creative, and safe way. Be sure to stop by their Open House on April 9th from 1-3pm.

3. The Learning Experience

Known and trusted for making early education and daycare joyful, engaging, and fun so children are happy to learn, play and grow, The Learning Experience lightens up their programming for Summer 2022. Each week features a different, exciting theme where the emphasis is on “fun learning”. Outdoor trips to a nature preserve, learning about ocean life at an aquarium, visiting a splash pad, and creating a camp site are just some of the ways you can be sure children will be highly engaged and fully entertained.

Why we love The Learning Experience: It’s simple: happy happens here. There’s an undeniable focus on the whole experience for both the child and the family. From the facility to the guest speakers to the lunch menu to the outdoor adventures, every detail is meticulously planned.

4. The Quick Center at Fairfield University

Whether your child is on their way to mastering an innate talent or just curious about the theater, be sure to check out the ever-popular Missoula Children’s Theatre & Summer Camp Intensives. Open to grades 1-12, campers will present a full-scale production with costumes, songs, and dance after just one week of rehearsals. Aspiring thespians will love having a role in six weekly productions where everyone has a part. This summer’s programming includes The Little Mermaid and Red Riding Hood, to name a few. Campers can also stay after Missoula to experience any of the four Summer Camp Intensives—enrichment programs taught by well-known industry professionals. Singing for the Stage, Fashion, Photography, and Video Game Design are all on the roster for Summer 2022.

Why we love The Quick Center: Now more than ever kids need the arts and theatre to build friendships and share in the collective experience. Summer Camps at the Quick Center provide an opportunity for collaboration, for growth, and for some good solid fun.
