Fall is at our doorstep; it’s time to welcome that cozy, comforting mood inside your home. While summer embraced light fabrics, bright colors, and airy spaces, shifting your decor for autumn doesn’t require a full makeover. You can easily generate a shift using things you already own.
Start by swapping out summer textiles. Replace lightweight throws and pillows with rich, textured fabrics, like wool, flannel, or velvet. Choose warm shades such as burnt orange, deep burgundy, and forest green. Layering adds both comfort and visual interest.
Next, embrace fall-inspired scents like cinnamon, clove, apple, and, of course, pumpkin spice, to instantly create a cozy ambiance. Bring the outside in with natural elements. Decorate with small pumpkins, gourds, pinecones, and branches. A simple bowl of seasonal fruit or a vase filled with dried wheat stalks makes for an effortless centerpiece.
