Jacque Phillips, an RN with a Bachelor of Nursing Science degree and owner of AccuCare Home Health Care of St. Louis, 10131 Olive Street Rd., Creve Coeur, MO, says she began her company in 1994 because she wanted to have a bigger impact on patient care.
“We want to keep them in their home,” she says. “I love seniors and caring for them because they are a group who needs a lot besides nursing care.”
AccuCare services include personal care, light housework, meal preparation, bill paying and transportation services.

Jennifer Adams, director of Bluebird Home Care, #2 City Place, Creve Coeur, MO, says Bluebird is like “a boutique-style home care business.”
“I’m excited in helping clients stay in their homes safely with the caregivers and the Certified Nurse Assistants that we send,” she says. “We’re giving our clients their independence in their home versus going to a nursing home or having family take over for them.”
“Our services are based on what their needs are whether it’s errands, appointments or lunch with friends,” she says. “Making seniors feel that their independence is not being taken away is important.”
She says many seniors do not know that they need help until an emergency arises, and Bluebird educates them to the resources are available and home care options.
