Setting the Scene for Summer

Summer entertaining is the perfect time to showcase your hosting skills with a simple yet sophisticated tablescape.

After spending a year in the house during the pandemic, I have gone through every stage of the quarantine: baking, trying new recipes, TikTok'ing, day drinking, and gaining the "quarantine fifteen."  As we slowly get back to entertaining and social gatherings with friends and family, I am thrilled to create fabulous experiences whenever I can. This summer I am going to host several brunches and safe social gatherings on my patio.  When hosting, I take pride in being the "hostess with the mostest" because it's always important for me to make my guests feel welcome and appreciated.

A fabulous tablescape sets the tone for your entertainment experience. I prefer tablescapes that are bright, inviting, and feminine. Creating the perfect tablescape isn't as difficult as you might think, with three basic elements to consider.

First, pick a theme and a color palette and select your linens.  Choose a tablecloth or a table runner. Then, add placemats, chargers, or napkins. Accessorize and fill in the center with flowers and candles.  You can also add a placecard for that extra touch. If you aren't a DIY'er and you are short on patience and time, call the pros.  I highly recommend Peachfully Chic Lane (@PeachfullyChicLane), which is a custom tablescape company that creates unforgettable turnkey tablescapes for picnics, birthdays, bridal or baby showers, holidays, and any other celebration that will take place around Smyrna Vinings. Next, add a dish for the occasion.  Frittata is my must-have at all brunch events. I like that there are a variety of combinations, ingredients, and flavor profiles that you can incorporate into this staple dish.  A frittata are strong enough to stand well on its own as a meal or you can pair it with other complementary dishes if you'd like to highlight its taste. Try a mixed green salad, fruit salad, or potatoes.
