Each summer, Temecula’s wine country becomes a stage as Shakespeare in the Vines brings the Bard’s timeless works to life beneath the open sky at Baily Vineyard & Winery. Now in its 20th season, this beloved nonprofit theater company blends classic storytelling with the romance of vineyard views, golden sunsets, and warm summer nights.
Founded by Sheila Havens-Ryle, the company is rooted in community and artistic excellence, drawing local talent and loyal audiences alike. From the chilling drama of Macbeth to the whimsy of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, performances are crafted to stir both heart and imagination.
Guests bring blankets, chairs, and local wine, creating an intimate, al fresco experience where the lines between audience and atmosphere disappear. With special events like “Pay What You Can” nights and educational outreach for youth, the company’s mission remains clear: to make Shakespeare accessible, alive, and unforgettable.
