Signature Homes’ Milestone

Homebuilder marks 45 years in the valley pioneering quality, value, and customer satisfaction

In 1978, Richard and Wendy Plaster formed Plaster Development Company, Inc., as a Las Vegas family business with a commitment to building quality new construction homes, value, and customer satisfaction. With every home they built, they left their mark or ‘signature’ on each piece they created.

Then they adopted the trade name of Signature Homes.

As of now, Signature Homes is one of the oldest, privately held homebuilders in the Las Vegas Valley. Over 45 years, Signature Homes has built more than 145 communities and 13,000 homes.

The Signature team has received countless national, regional, and local awards including two CAI Developer of the Year Awards, two DESI awards for best sustainable design and best courtyard design, and many more. They have built strong relationships with local trades and other businesses that have allowed them to put more value and quality craftsmanship into every home they build.

Andrew Torgersen is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Signature Homes. He has lived in the Las Vegas Valley for 30 years and has been in the homebuilding industry for the past seven years.

“As a kid, my parents would take me to see model homes on the weekends and I was always fascinated with floorplans and design,” said Torgersen. “Today, that passion still holds true, and I am proud not only to be a member of the Signature Homes family but also a happy owner of a Signature home!”

At Signature Homes, there are whole teams dedicated to working in specific areas such as construction, marketing, accounting, and insurance. Whatever one may need, they can find it at Signature Homes.

“We want our customers to walk away from our business feeling right at home,” said Torgerson. “We are a local builder that just wants to build dream homes for our customers. We work with them every step of the way to ensure a seamless process.”

Currently, Signature Homes is building a new single-story community, Grand Fair Pointe, in the Southwest region (Lindell and Serene) near Jones and Blue Diamond.

“We have two brand new floorplans ranging from 2,592 to 3,028 square feet and offer 3 to 5 bedrooms, 2.5 to 3.5 bathrooms, 2 to 4 car garages, and solar,” said Torgersen. “This will be our second community to include solar on all homes. On top of our exhaustive list of standard features, we are excited to offer several structural options to help homebuyers customize their home. These options include a multi-gen suite, deluxe spa bath, secluded courtyard, luxury kitchen, and much more that can be found on our website.”

Torgersen looks to turn customers into proud homeowners.

After celebrating its 45th anniversary last year, Signature Homes proudly holds the title of Las Vegas's oldest continuously operated private builder. President Rick Barron shares the company's unique journey, highlighting their flexibility and adaptability. Barron points out that Signature has thrived by paying attention to industry cycles, avoiding overgrowth, and remaining adaptable. Signature Homes plans to start building more than 100 homes this year, aiming to grow that number in 2025. The company is also expanding into the build-for-rent housing market, with a “solar included” townhome project in the northwest valley, addressing affordability concerns and showcasing their commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.
