Cats are the second most popular animal to adopt, but for Boise State graduate Maddie Corey, they fill her whole heart. At age three, Corey's love started with her first two cats, Star and Moon. Seven cats later, she's ready to put her passion for her furry friends into a more contributing pursuit.
At the end of March, Corey signed on with Simply Cats, a cageless, no-kill adoption organization for re-homed cats. Corey uses her Marketing major as the Outreach and Fundraising Coordinator to plan donation drives and fundraising events for the facility. She is also the point-of-contact for outside donations. The money goes towards giving incoming cats a vet check up, vaccinations, microchips, and more, so the adoption is as easy as possible. Since switching to an online format, Corey has seen more adoptions then ever before. "My goal [for this position] is to increase the adoption turnover for the more difficult adoptable cats, like the older kitties and the ones with medical needs. Kittens are more popular to adopt, but the others deserve a chance as well," Corey says. She also plans to develop more fundraisers for future building developments that can hold more cats.

Eska (F): This torty beauty was found in Mountain Home and then adopted and returned once already. She is more reserved but likes to be around other cats. She will need time and patience but will love and cherish, nonetheless.
Kip & Kojack (M): This brother pair has been adopted but returned twice to SC. While Kojack is more outgoing, Kip needs more time to warm up to a new home. They love to play and cuddle but need to be adopted together.
Edit (F): At 14 years old, she’s the oldest cat at SC since being found in a cat colony. At her age, she likes to sleep and can be temperamental. She needs frequent medicine, but just wants to find a lasting home.
