Taking his unique blend of humor, integrity, and passion for service, Jorge Porras opened Blue Line K-9 Training in 2022. Specializing in behavior modification, rehabilitation, and obedience training, the dynamic business owner has a remarkable ability to transform dogs who may normally be overlooked.

With over two decades working and thriving in the culinary industry, Jorge learned the value of being part of a transformative process, "You have a direct impact, for good or for bad, on the outcome. You become part of the process and make the difference. From concept to plating to running a full kitchen, it's all part of the process that builds magic for the customers." Jorge pulls from his culinary experience to pour into his calling and passion for dog training.

Jorge’s love of service and work ethic set him apart from others in his field. His favorite part of the training experience is providing the ‘how’ for dog owners, and showing them what's possible for their dog. "It's all about developing the right skills. Everyone can learn the basics and grow from there," says Jorge.

With a variety of training packages available, Blue Line K-9 has something to suit the needs of every customer and every dog. Clients can learn side-by-side with their dog when they choose the Gold Package. The Ultimate Platinum level is perfect for those with busy schedules; where owners can drop off their dog for daytime training but have their dog at home every night. For

full immersion training, owners can opt to send their pup for two weeks to Camp Blue Line.

Top Tips for Leaving the House

Whether it’s time to travel (with or without mans’-best-friend), or just leaving their dog at home for the day, Jorge shares some top tips for dog owners. “Set your dog up for success by getting them trained and socialized, making it easier to manage stressful situations like airports or high-traffic areas,” Jorge advises. “Work on crate training your dog. There may be times where your dog will have to be in a crate and you don't want the first time to be on a trip and you find out they have an aversion to it.”

When it comes to leaving a furry friend home alone, “Don't amp up your dog before you leave. We often feel like we need to prepare the dog for us leaving by giving large amounts of affection,” Jorge says. “Instead, minimize the amount of affection and save it for when you get back.”

For extended time frames when owners can’t take their dog along, “There are many great companies out there that offer boarding, or private individuals who open their homes,” says

Jorge. “Advocate for your dog; research, ask questions, and see if you can bring your dog for a tour. I trust services who are interested in building a relationship with the client.”

Jorge is passionate about teaching dog owners the power behind consistency, structure, and patience. He’s driven to empower dog owners by imparting the right knowledge and skills to unlock their dog's potential–transforming lives, one dog at a time.
