Advice

In today's fast-paced world, remember to slow down and spend quality time with the people you love. This holiday season, try not to focus on the gifts or food. Instead, focus on the ones you hold the dearest.

This past year has been a whirlwind for Logan Lester Talfeksi. In addition to being one of the busiest realtors in Houston, participating in philanthropic and social events, and her ongoing role with the Miss Texas Pageant, it is also her first holiday season as a newlywed. She and her husband, Zach Talfeski, tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in April.

Logan is taking this festive opportunity to incorporate family traditions into her holidays and create new ones with her husband. "Zach and I love to volunteer together as a couple. This year we are volunteering at Houston Children's Charity and will adopt a family, so we can give directly to children and families who need it."

In her rare moments of downtime, Logan admits she will likely be wandering around "her happy place," Craftex, shopping for holiday decor. She and Zach have already made a couple of trips this holiday season. The "dog-mom" of two is also looking forward to Christmas Eve. "I absolutely love Christmas eve festivities at my parents' home. We make homemade chicken tortilla soup, read `Twas the Night Before Christmas (yes even as adults), and work on a huge puzzle all night until we pass out."

Giving to the community is one of our most important holiday traditions. One day when Zach and I have kids, we hope to continue this tradition and keep our family centered around the true spirit of Christmas. - Logan Lester Tafelski
