University Burger is a familiar MSU campus staple serving up burgers for years. Formerly the U Burger, Sean Ehlert purchased the classic restaurant in 2019, and his close friend, Ian Benbrooks joined him shortly after. University Burger has crafted the most creatively fun and delicious burgers ever since. With some inventive burger options like the “Italian Stallion” or the “Mac Deezle”, University Burger cooks up a prolific culinary experience.
University Burger is part of the “Bozeman Kitchen Collective”, which also includes “Knuckle Truck”, a food catering truck, which can be found on rotation at Outlaw Brewing’s parking lot.
Their newest addition is “South Coast”, a Cajun-inspired gulf coast cuisine that required the expansion of University Burger’s lounge area.
The two restaurants now share a wide open space offering shared seating for both restaurants. Ehlert and Benbrooks’ passion for culinary creations, lively personalities, and colorful flavor combinations are some of the qualities that make their mission so unique.
Sean and the team at UB have always valued their involvement in the community. Every Thursday they donate meals to Blueprint and hospital workers three times a week, as well as a program that, with the help of Nina’s Tacos and Urban Kitchen, donated meals to anybody in need through the course of the pandemic. They also sponsor a local amateur hockey team!
