South Perkins Stroll

A new kind of working from home

If you drive down the stretch of South Perkins Road over the train tracks, between Southern and Park avenues, you will encounter a row of unassuming houses set back from the busy street. Inside these perfectly located houses, bustling businesses are flourishing. We are often searching for that comfortable, homey feeling when shopping, looking to find a solution for a gift or new addition to a guest room.

Business owners have been setting up shop on South Perkins for decades, inviting clients and customers to browse and get lost in the homey feel found inside their walls. Le Fleur Florist, Juve Salon and Spa, and Goetze Art & Design have found their home on South Perkins Road.

Without sprawling aisles or harsh overhead lighting, clients and customers enjoy their shopping experience. South Perkins business owners and staff connect with those who frequent the stores personally. Amanda Goetze believes through her move to South Perkins she was “able to keep the approachable, warm and cozy feeling of being in a home” while maintaining her premium service. Whether you’re getting your hair cut or finally pulling the trigger on a new painting for your living room, you’re sure to feel at home.

Goetze Art & Design started as a living room operation in 2019. Soon enough, the gallery needed more space, but not a different feel. Owner, Amanda Goetze, moved to their current location to have more wall space as the business grew. “The beauty of our new space is that it allows us to keep our neighborhood feel while providing a wonderful experience for our clients to truly see all of our gorgeous artwork,” Amanda says of the natural-light-filled space behind Garner’s Framing.

After 25 years of business, Le Fleur moved to their home on South Perkins. Owner, Kevin Coble, says, “We operated out of strip malls since opening, there is no comparison between the two… Clients love to experience each room as they are individual shops - all color coordinated and offering different one of a kind treasures.”
