Southern Hospitality in a Bottle

How Jackson Morgan Southern Cream Captures the Warmth and Heart of Tennessee

Family is at the heart of Jackson Morgan Southern Cream, from the name to the team to the history that inspired its founding.

Morgan Wetherington Weinstock, co-founder and marketing leader of the liqueur brand, shares, “Like a lot of Southern families, ours is full of characters with wild stories. One of my favorites is my great-grandfather, who ran a moonshine operation in the 1920s before leaving that life behind to become a preacher. Talk about a plot twist!”

In 2013, that history came full circle with the founding of Jackson Morgan Southern Cream, a name drawn from Morgan alongside her brother, Jackson Wetherington. The company quickly made an impact in the alcohol business with its unique and creamy liqueur flavors.

Morgan says, “We were probably a little naive about how the liquor business really worked, but we were willing to show up, work hard, and just be ourselves. We are not like most people in the traditional liquor business, and it turns out those fresh ideas are exactly what set us apart.”

Southern hospitality is woven into the company’s fabric and into every bottle. For Morgan, she recalls the family home becoming a hosting hotspot for everything growing up. It was a place where anyone was welcome, and memories were made. That is the feeling the family-owned and operated Jackson Morgan Southern Cream has continued to capture with flavors that fit any occasion.

Morgan says, “We love carrying that spirit over to our brand, infusing Southern hospitality into everything we do, from the way we treat our vendors, our content on social media, or how our events are run.”

For Morgan, seeing the liqueurs mark special moments brings the mission to life. “Whether it is Christmas morning with a boozy peppermint mocha hot chocolate or a toast at someone's wedding, it is an honor to be a small part of those huge life memories.”

The Jackson Morgan team is as intentional about its Southern hospitality as it is about its formulations. The standout creamy liqueur flavors like Salted Caramel and Lemon Icebox are paired with genuine Tennessee whiskey.

Morgan says, “It is where we were born and raised, and where we are choosing to raise our own families now. Tennessee is much more than a location for us. The people, the lifestyle, the pace of life; it is all part of who we are, and we wanted that woven into every bottle.”

Through years of growth, Jackson Morgan has preserved the heart of what it set out to be. Family plays an integral part in running the company. Family friends have joined the mission as the company expanded. New team members have become like family. Morgan admires their hard work and talent, saying, “I am incredibly proud of our team. We are the underdogs in a lot of ways, and it has been very rewarding watching us build this brand from the ground up.”

While the company has grown since its founding in 2013, it plans to keep expanding and bring Southern hospitality to more people. Jackson Morgan continues to launch new cream liqueurs, like Grasshopper Pie, a mint-chocolate flavor, in addition to serving fan favorites like Spiced Pumpkin Roll and Brown Sugar and Cinnamon. The company currently offers nine flavors.

Morgan says, “Looking ahead, our vision is nationwide distribution and turning Jackson Morgan into a household name along the way.”
