Ashlie Langston isn't your ordinary Southern girl. She hails from Mississippi, has lived throughout the south, and met her husband in Louisiana. She says, "My Dad is in the ministry. We moved around a good bit, which kind of forced me to become an extrovert. I'm grateful for that because it made me who I am today."
Who she is today is a lifestyle blogger and content creator. Married to her high school sweetheart and mom to three small boys, Ashlie says, " I started blogging as a way to keep our families in the loop once I had babies. I quickly found a love for writing." But she admits, "I didn't know what I was doing initially and it took some time to figure out the logistics when it came to the blog. I knew that it would be a creative outlet and everything would stem from my roots whether the content was about my family, recipes from the kitchen, affordable fashion, or my faith . So I've held to that and it hasn't steered me wrong."
She continues, "I love my community which I found in the early stages of my motherhood journey. I started speaking out about my postpartum depression and anxiety after my second son, which became therapeutic for me. Motherhood can get lonely and having other friends walking it alongside you is powerful. I would love to eventually write a book about this season of my life in hopes that it would help other moms experiencing the same thing."
Does she worry about Instagram's reputation as sometimes being fake? "I'm real and what you see is what you get. Without fail, you'll always find me showing you the beauty in the mess. I'm a big advocate for vulnerability and breaking the facade of perfection on social media." Instagram: @southernmadeblog
