A former athlete, Ari Sanchez once thought Pilates was for people with a different body type than hers, but it only took one class to hook her for life. Since then, she has been on a mission to spread the message that Pilates is for everyBODY.
In 2019, Ari opened SPARK Pilates Studio (Stretching - Pilates - Alignment - Restorative – Kinetics) with the goal of making Pilates accessible and inclusive for all. “I want everyone who comes into the studio to feel like they have a home no matter their age, fitness level, or where they are in their fitness journey,” she says.
Ari and her Junior Instructor Maegan Million offer private sessions and group classes, but the first step is an Introductory Session which allows clients to become familiar with the basic principles and movements of Pilates. “This prepares clients to get the most out of group classes, or if they are interested in private sessions, we learn how to tailor those to their specific needs and goals,” Ari explains. Group classes, which are kept small, include mat, equipment, and reformer Pilates sessions.
Pilates provides physical, mental, and emotional benefits for all ages. “We focus on the mind-body connection,” explains Ari. “It helps people become aware of how they move, how their muscles activate, and how they can better support themselves through everyday life.”
