Imagine reaching your fitness goals with the help of fun, functional
fitness tips! Our goal is to look and feel our very best this year. Goodbye to sluggish mornings after one too many wines. Peak 360, a privately-owned gym in Greenwich, Connecticut, CEO Celebrity Trainer Dominic Novak, specializes in
preparing customized programs and private training that can help you attain all your fitness goals. This year is all about functioning at your very best!

GL: Do you have any recommendations on how to incorporate working out after the holiday season?
DN: The most important thing to remember is the rear-view mirror is small but the front windshield is large. We can use this to not beat ourselves up about what we have not done in the past but rather look ahead with optimism that today is a new day, and with that, I'm going to begin a new chapter in my life. Small steps every day lead to consistent and sustained changes. I recommend writing down your long-term goals, but each month set smaller goals that are achievable and begin. Taking photos of your starting fitness body, and each month afterward are good motivators to continue.

GL: Why did you decide to own a gym?
DN: Thirty-five years ago, in 1987, I started working as a personal trainer in a few gyms in Greenwich, Port Chester, and going to clients’ homes. After 6 years of doing this, I felt the desire and passion to own a center of my own so with that birthed Peak Physique, Inc in 1993.  A 10,000-square-foot private training center in Greenwich. In 2016, Dana, my wife and I, re-branded, changed our name to Peak 360 Greenwich and moved locations. What makes us unique is that we have held to our core principles and beliefs, that each body is unique and different; every person has stress and emotions that must be factored in and everyone has a lifestyle that they are leading.

GL: What is your definition of functional fitness and how can it be attained?
DN: I equate Functional fitness to the lifestyle of the individual. Meaning if we are training a runner, functional fitness means that we need to provide that client with rotational exercises and balance exercises keeping in mind the placement of the feet upon landing so that he or she can be proficient at running. Functionally fit means that each person is active in their movements with the correct alignment and posture to execute each move correctly.

GL: Is there a difference between training men and women, or do you find that both genders can train in the same fashion?
DN: The hormones play a factor, but I refer back to each person’s uniqueness and the way that we train them is based upon needs, wants, goals and lifestyle. Assessing this allows us to plan a program. In most cases, not all, I tend to give
women higher repetitions on each exercise, and my exercise selection will favor more shaping the muscle worked. Men in most cases, not all, I tend to give them broad repetition ranges and more building muscle exercises. Having said that it comes down to what each person wants and needs.

GL: How can adding a daily or weekly fitness routine elevate your life?
DN: We have mind, a body and a spirit. The body is a critical component in allowing a person to continue to be active well into their senior years.  In most cases, it is a choice that a person makes.  The discipline created by training will build confidence in life.

GL: Can you tell what other services your business provides?
DN: Our Boot camp is a great way to get in the best shape of your life. 30 days of customized training, nutrition and massage We have brought thousands of clients
through with amazing results such as weight loss, body fat lost, inches lost and lean muscle attained. Stretch/massage is a great way to heal the body of any tightness, help reduce the chance of injury and help to gain flexibility, mobility and pliability. Yoga is a great way to help reduce stress, regain your center and balance,
and learn to move with precision and grace. Pilates is a great method to help strengthen the core and open much-needed areas of tightness.
