Spicy Pineapple Margarita

A delicious cocktail with a kick of jalapeño and bright citrus mix

This Spicy Pineapple Margarita blends together the perfect sweet, spicy, and citrusy notes for a refreshing cocktail with a little heat. Fresh pineapple juice adds natural sweetness while jalapeños bring just enough spice to keep things interesting without overpowering the drink. 

INGREDIENTS (makes 1 cocktail): 

  • 2 oz blanco tequila 
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1.5 oz pineapple juice
  • 0.5 oz orange liqueur
  • 0.25-0.5 oz agave syrup to taste
  • 2-3 slices fresh jalapeño (remove seeds for less heat)
  • Ice
  • Tajín or salt for rim (optional, but delicious) 
  • Pineapple wedge and jalapeño slice for garnish

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. If desired, rim your glass with lime juice and dip into Tajín or salt. Fill the glass with ice and set aside. 
  2. In a cocktail shaker, add jalapeño slices and gently muddle to release flavor.
  3. Add tequila, lime juice, pineapple juice, orange liqueur, and agave syrup.
  4. Fill the shaker with ice and shake for 10-15 seconds until well chilled.
  5. Strain into your prepared glass over fresh ice. 
  6. Garnish with a pineapple wedge and a thin jalapeño slice.

For a smoother finish, double strain to remove seeds and pulp. Adjust the spice level by increasing or decreasing the jalapeño slices. Serve immediately and enjoy chilled.
