Spring Fashion Show Supports Nonprofit

The Event on March 2 Raises Money for the Assistance League of East Valley

On Sat., March 2, people can attend an enjoyable event while also helping to support a local nonprofit.

Assistance League of East Valley will host Spring-Tacular Day, featuring “Fashions, Friends and Fun’draising” at the Marriott Phoenix Chandler, 1600 S. Price Road.

As Judy Brown, resource development vice president notes, the event will help provide new school clothing and uniforms for more than 6,000 needy school children this year.

The doors will open at 9:30 a.m. for shopping at boutique vendors, followed by a silent auction and raffle, and then a luncheon at noon.

A high-energy fashion show, complete with music and lights, will start at 1 p.m., Brown notes, adding that a number of well-known locals will model the clothing from Kiss Me Kate Boutique and Caddie Shack Golf.

“Frank Narducci, superintendent of Chandler Unified School District; Angel Encinas and Christine Ellis from the Chandler City Council; and Denise McCreery, a local business owner, will be models, along with others from the East Valley.”

Michael Pollack of Michael A. Pollack Real Estate Investments is the title sponsor for this year’s event. Pollack has been a longtime supporter of Assistance League of East Valley, Brown says, providing much-needed funding and other support.

Derek Stahl, a news anchor on Arizona's Family, 3TV and CBS 5, will emcee.

Reservations for the event are available online at the organization’s website, by mail, or in person at their Thrift Shop, 2326 N. Alma School Road.

As Brown notes, Assistance League of East Valley has a long history of helping transform the lives and children and adults through its community programs.

The all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization also provides 13 college scholarships and over 5,000 clothing and hygiene kits for victims of assault or crisis.

“People who are interested in helping can join us as a member and volunteer, or they can donate to our Thrift Store, donate money, or donate tax credits,” Brown says.
