October heralds the return of the holiday season. It is a time when friends and family gather to enjoy fun, food and fellowship. As the weather cools down, most of the social gatherings tend to take place indoors, with much of the entertaining centered around the heart of every home – the kitchen
Before the arrival of holiday visitors, many homeowners are eager to spruce up their kitchens and dining areas to give them a fresh look. While some folks may know what they want in their kitchens, many of us don’t have a clue what we want or how to begin.
Fortunately, for those of us in the uncertain category, there is Dream Kitchen and Bath.
Owned by Melinda and Curtis Calvert, Dream Kitchen and Bath has been helping area homeowners transform their dreams into reality for over 6 years. The company is conveniently located in the center of Hendersonville, where it houses an all-new showroom.
“At Dream Kitchen and Bath, we offer anything from standard cabinetry and countertop replacement to full-blown remodeling projects,” says Melinda. “Our team is committed to delivering the highest quality home renovation solutions.”
Along with its top-notch design credentials, Dream Kitchen and Bath partners with industry-leading materials manufacturers to ensure remodel projects that will enhance the beauty and value of homes for years to come.
Kitchen cabinetry is available in a variety of styles from major vendors such as Bridgewood, Wolf, ROC and CNC. Custom countertops made of granite, marble or quartz are sourced from well-known suppliers such as Cosentino, Cambria, Cosmos and Caesarstone. All projects use only the finest in hardware and fixtures from such leading manufacturers as Delta, Moen, Kohler, Richelieu and Worth.
Dream Kitchen and Bath begins every project with a personalized exploratory process in which customer needs and desires are discovered.
“First, I schedule an at-home appointment to gain a clear understanding of the scope of the project,” says Melinda. “After completing the discovery process, I develop detailed design renderings and a project budget which I send to the customer for review and approval.”
Once approved, the project gets underway, with most remodeling jobs taking about six weeks to complete.
“While we strive to stay on schedule, there can always be unforeseen circumstances that can cause the process to take a bit longer,” says Melinda. “As any customer who has ever watched a remodeling show on HGTV can attest, hiccups can occur. However, we go out of our way to make the process as smooth as possible.”
As in any design business, keeping up with current and coming trends is very important to the Dream Kitchen and Bath team. After all, no customer wants to invest in a remodeling project only to have it become outdated in a couple of years.
“Currently, the farmhouse design trend remains dominant, featuring soft hues such as gold, white, cream terra cotta, sea foam green and azure,” says Melinda. “These colors pair well with farmhouse staples such as classic white sinks from Kohler and Cosentino Dekton countertops.”
For homeowners contemplating remodeling prior to the holiday season, Dream Kitchen and Bath has several suggestions that will help ensure on-time projects.
“First, do your homework. Know what you like and don’t like ahead of time,” says Melinda. “Next, declutter your existing kitchen by getting rid of things that you no longer use.”
Next, homeowners should develop a realistic budget.
“It is very important that homeowners know how much they can spend on their project,” says Melinda. “Factors to be considered are existing home value, how long you intend to stay in your home and the overall project scope.”
Once the budget has been established, Melinda and her team can go to work designing the new kitchen look.
“We encourage our customers to keep an open mind about design possibilities,” says Melinda. “As an experienced, degreed designer, it is my responsibility to create unique kitchen layouts that match the desires and personalities of the homeowners.”
While 2021 is approaching an end, Melinda is quick to point out that there is still time to get your dream kitchen before the holidays arrive. However, she is quick to point out her design schedule is filling up fast.
“I strongly encourage that customers schedule their initial consultation no later than the first two weeks of October,” says Melinda. “
