When the AC Hotel opened its doors in September of 2021 in the heart of Hill Center in Brentwood, it was with the goal of offering its clients a modern and upscale place to stay that’s convenient for shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. “This town has its own historic landmarks and stories, but many of us are so used to going into Nashville to do everything,” says General Manager Demetrius Patterson. “Being in Williamson County, guests don't have to leave the area to have a great experience.”

The initials AC actually stands for Antonio Catalán, who was the founder of the brand when it was started in Madrid, Spain. “When Marriott got involved, they wanted to acquire the culture of a European boutique-style hotel, so they kept AC as the initials,” he says.

That European-style ambiance is imbued throughout the hotel, including in its beverages and food. “We’re definitely focused on taste and experience, so we're always looking to create something that looks good to the eye but also appeals to the taste buds,” says Demetrius. “Instead of the traditional breakfast spread, we offer spinach and cheese quiche, baked frittatas, croissants, and espressos. The tapas style menu we offer also feeds into that European style.”

This spirit is incorporated into its guest rooms as well. With floor-to-ceiling windows, they are light and airy with a modern, open concept. “All of our rooms are designed to have maximized openness, so guests have a nice space to set up at the desk and work or relax on the couch,” he says. “It gives those extra features that you would only have in a suite in most hotels.”

The property also features a stylish rooftop bar that overlooks the hills and exudes great energy all around. “We specialize in a sensory-based experience, so when you walk into our hotel, we want the music that you hear to be just at the perfect volume - not too loud - but loud enough that it makes you want to pat your feet if you're having a drink at the bar.”

With the holidays coming, Demetrius and his staff are looking forward to welcoming many out-of-town guests who will be visiting family and friends in the Brentwood area. “AC Hotel is designed to offer a comfortable, elegant, and effortless environment during a stay, and when people are traveling, the one thing they want is comfort,” he says. “And our neighbors want their family members to have the same amenities they would have if they were staying at their homes.”

Locals are also encouraged to stay and experience a mini vacation away from the everyday stresses of life. A lot of times people don’t know or appreciate what’s close by and think they must leave their hometowns in order to find a little excitement.

“We love having locals stay, and we even promote a Discover Brentwood package where they can experience our bar and our breakfast and also get 20% off,” he says. “Staying here over a weekend gives them the ability to see their town in a different light and do the things that our travelers and tourists do.”

During the holidays, the hotel lobby transforms into a real winter wonderland with a modern spin. “Guests will be able to experience that Christmas spirit with the beautiful tree and holiday music.” Various holiday packages can also be found online to make the stay even more festive.

To ring in the new year, a plan is in the works to host a New Year’s Eve party. “We would love to have local businesses partner with us, and, of course, we would also love to have the businesses and residents around us hold their holiday parties here at the hotel,” says Demetrius.

Over the last three years, the feedback from guests has been incredibly positive, he remarks. They can easily walk to get something to eat or do a little shopping, and the one thing that they really appreciate is AC Hotel’s clean and modern esthetic. “There’s not a lot of clutter. It is all very minimalized, and it has been a wonderful experience for them to see a hotel not be in a traditional light.”

Being a newer property, many people don’t always know the hotel is here. “We would love to cater to our locals and their guests from both an aspect of lodging and entertainment,” says Demetrius. “We would love for them to come and have a drink with us, get a bite to eat, and listen to live music.”

So, book a stay for yourself or your guests soon, and enjoy all that AC Hotel has to offer.
