Hello Leawood! This September issue marks the 10 year anniversary of Leawood Lifestyle and we're so excited to celebrate with you! We've made many memories over the last 10 years with stories that have touched your hearts, businesses you've come to rely on and great friends you've made at our events.

Leawood is home to some of the best people in the world. From entrepreneurs like Jeff Covitz, founder of Houndstooth Men's Apparel; medical professionals like cardiologist Rhea Pimentel, who have made Kansas City a destination to get the best care possible; students like Will Gurley, who started the You Matter Music Festival to bring awareness to mental health and depression; and spectacular people like holocaust survivor Sonia Warshawski, who tells her inspirational story all over the world—we're grateful to share these amazing stories.

We’ve seen local heroes spotlighted as well. Having a great mother and father who raised 10 children, and a wife who is raising (as of now) three small children, I know personally that moms are some of those heroes. We have so many mothers and fathers that are local heroes that are doing amazing, unseen acts of heroism on a daily basis. We’ve also seen local first responders going above and beyond the call of duty, like Leawood Police Sergeant Jordan Couturier who, along with many others, goes above and beyond through his involvement with the Special Olympics and the Torch run.

You've seen a new publisher leading the Leawood Lifestyle magazine: Jane Preuss. Jane lives in Leawood, has a beautiful family and has been an inspiration to so many people. She's a bright light in Leawood and has such a passion for this community, talking to residents about who they want to see in the magazine and what continues to make this community unique. We're happy she'll continue to bring you a beautiful magazine each month.

Here at Lifestyle Publications, we have seen a lot of growth in 10 years. We are helping to build more than 100 communities through our publications from the east coast to the west coast. Leawood is our first and our favorite. We've always taken pride in Leawood and will forever call it home. We've made many memories and have seen so many lives touched throughout the past 10 years. So we want to thank you, Leawood, for making this such a great city. We thank you for sharing these pages with us each month and pouring your hearts into this community—you're truly some of my favorite people.

It's hard to believe it's been 10 years, but time goes by fast when you love what you do and spend it with people you love. Thanks for opening your doors to us—we'll see you around town!
