Virginia Noyes didn’t plan to start a business -- she just wanted to feel like herself again.
Between long days at a draining job and a growing desire to do something creative, she picked up a needle, threaded it, and started stitching. “Eventually I had to ask myself,” she remembers, “‘If I don’t take the risk now… will I ever?’”
So she took the leap -- and V. Hand Stitching was born.
What started as a side hustle has grown into a vibrant creative brand full of heart, humor, and hand-stitched style. Virginia’s work is joyfully offbeat -- denim jackets with Taylor Swift lyrics, colorful pieces that shimmer and smile, and designs that invite everyone in. Nothing feels too precious or too polished -- just deeply personal.
And lately, she’s been handing the needle over.
“Over the past year, V. Hand Stitching has really shifted toward events,” Virginia shares. “Our Craft & Yap nights have become the heartbeat of what I do.” These relaxed embroidery workshops are part craft class, part social hour, and fully judgment-free. Guests gather in cozy spaces -- often with music, a cold brew coffee bar, and lots of laughter -- while learning the basics of hand embroidery in a way that’s unintimidating and fun.
Whether you’re new to stitching or just craving something creative, you’ll leave with a handmade piece -- and probably a new friend or two.
You don’t need to be an expert to enjoy it. As long as you’re open to learning and slowing down, you’re in good company. “The back of your project is nobody’s business,” Virginia says with a grin. Translation? Don’t worry about the messy parts. That’s how you grow.
And of course, no V. Hand Stitching story is complete without a little Swiftie magic. Virginia’s very first Taylor-inspired jacket -- stitched purely for fun -- is still her favorite. “There are a million things I’d fix now,” she laughs, “but that imperfect piece connected me to people all over the world.”
Through her art and events, Virginia is creating more than embroidery -- she’s creating space. A place where creativity is joyful, imperfection is welcome, and embroidery feels truly accessible to anyone willing to give it a try.
