Step Into J's Art Nail Lounge

A Salon Experience You'll Love Coming Back To.

Opened in April 2025, J’s Art Nail Lounge isn’t your typical nail salon. Founder Vince Phan envisioned a space where artistry, self-care, and connection could coexist—and he delivered. Tucked in the heart of Riviera Village, the salon offers more than just polish: it’s a calm environment where every detail is designed to pamper. Vince and his team pride themselves on client care—not just nail care.

REDONDO BEACH CITY LIFESTYLE: HOW DO YOU CREATE AN EXPERIENCE THAT KEEPS PEOPLE COMING BACK?

VINCE PHAN: We designed the salon to feel like a mini retreat—clean tools, cozy chairs, no loud talking, and no rushed appointments. We remember clients’ preferences, from colors and nail shapes to music choices. We also use high-quality products that last longer. People come back because their nails don't chip after a week.

RBCL: WHAT COLORS, SHAPES, OR FINISHES ARE TRENDING RIGHT NOW?

VINCE: We have over 1,000 colors. Almond and short round shapes are the most popular, along with gel color, cat eye, and chrome finishes.

RBCL: WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR KEEPING NAILS HEALTHY BETWEEN APPOINTMENTS?

VINCE: Hydrate cuticles daily, moisturize hands and feet, wear gloves for chores, avoid using nails as tools, don’t peel polish, keep nails shaped, and take breaks from overlays every few months.

RBCL: WHAT TRENDS DO YOU SEE COMING FOR FALL/WINTER NAILS?

VINCE: We’ve introduced our clients to Bio-Gel, Hard Gel, and Gel X. For fall: creamy brown, lavender milk, rich burgundy, navy, plum, and chocolate. French tips remain classic. For winter: velvet and matte finishes, smoky sheers, jelly ice, magnetic polish with smoky red, rhinestones, pearls, metallic decals, pastel blue, silver, and neutral bases with light chrome.

RBCL: ARE MORE CLIENTS ASKING FOR NON-TOXIC, VEGAN, OR NATURAL NAIL PRODUCTS?

VINCE: Yes. More clients are choosing non-toxic, vegan, and natural products for health reasons.

RBCL: WHAT SHOULD WOMEN OVER 40 KEEP IN MIND FOR NAIL AND HAND HEALTH?

VINCE: Nails get thinner with age, so strengthening is key. Acetone and regular polish can damage natural nails, so nail polish choices matter. We suggest neutral or sheer shades that flatter skin tone, as well as short-to-medium nail lengths in almond or squoval shapes for durability. Gel X or Hard Gel protect natural nails.

RBCL: WHAT PROMOTIONS DO YOU OFFER?

VINCE: We offer 10% off for new clients and a 5% referral discount. We also provide a 10% student discount to Redondo Union and South High School to get services for prom and graduation. Additionally, we want to start a fundraiser—when high school students or faculty book services, we’ll donate 10% to their school.

We designed the salon to feel like a mini retreat—clean tools, cozy chairs, no loud talking, and no rushed appointments.
