Success is Best When Shared

Q&A on community accountability with New Hope Realty Group’s founders Micah Weldon and Renée Jordan

HOW DID YOU GET INTO REAL ESTATE?

RENÉE: “Micah and I have been friends since 1994. I was a nurse for 18 years, and Micah did property management. One day, I was burned out and getting off my night shift, and Micah called and said, ‘I think we should get our real estate licenses.’ It was serendipity.”

WHY IS INTEGRITY IMPORTANT IN YOUR FIELD?

MICAH: “Real estate is not as much about sales as it is about being a trusted advisor. The majority of our team members are from service professions, so we all enjoy helping people. Our community supports us and it's important that we are an example of service providers.”

HOW DOES YOUR TEAM STAY EDUCATED?

RENÉE: “Our broker is a renowned educator. She was nominated for Educator of the Year for Texas Realtors®, so she’s amazing. We also reach outside of our real estate classes and learn fundamentals of personal growth and business as a whole. We intentionally try to stay very well-rounded since our clients turn to us as a source of real knowledge.”

DESCRIBE YOUR TEAM BOND.

MICAH: “We are extremely protective of our culture. The best part of the team is that we all work for each other’s success. There is zero competition—unless we’re playing team Jeopardy!”

HOW DO YOU GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY?

RENÉE: “We do client appreciation events, like Thankful Pies. We have a local baker who makes these beautiful pies for Thanksgiving. Clients come to our office, and it’s this revolving door of people telling us how happy they are in their homes and how their life is. It’s so cool to get that update.”

MICAH: “We do a quarterly blood drive and pop-up market. It has been really nice to meet so many people and be able to support We Are Blood and local vendors and artists. We also collect bikes for Blue Santa, and it’s fun to see business partners and past clients come by the office with a bike.”

For both Micah and Renée, it is critical that New Hope Realty Group promotes authenticity. Their mission is to do good work alongside a team that genuinely wants to lift everyone up.
