Sugar Cookie Season

A Holiday Classic Creates a Canvas for Frosting and Sprinkles Galore

Ingredients:

6 cups all-purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 cups unsalted butter
2 cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract

Cream sugar and butter until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Blend dry ingredients in separate bowl and add, mixing well before chilling 1-2 hours.

Preheat oven to 350°. Roll out dough about ¼” thick on a lightly floured surface. Use cookie cutters to cut into your desired shapes. Place on a cookie sheet, prepared with cooking spray or parchment paper.

Bake 8-10 minutes. Cool on pan for five minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Frost and sprinkle away!

SHORTCUT: In lieu of chilling, put handfuls of fresh mixed dough between two sheets of parchment paper and roll. Chill the rolled dough, including the parchment paper, on a cookie sheet for a minimum of 10 minutes before cutting and baking.
