This past August, L'eau Pastry Cuisine Studio opened its doors, offering delicious world cuisine through culinary classes and events at its contemporary studio in Kirkland’s Totem Lake. Owner and Chief Instructor Ranita He, along with three other chefs, offers hands-on cooking, baking and pastry classes spanning countries from France and Spain to Japan and the Caribbean.
Born and raised in China, Ranita brings to the table a background in chemical engineering, followed by time spent in Paris studying French cuisine and experience working alongside renowned chefs in France and Denmark. Ranita created L'eau Pastry Cuisine Studio as a space where people could gather to appreciate world cuisine through the preparation and enjoyment of inspired dishes.
Each three-hour chef-led class features hands-on cooking and basic skills, wrapping up with a sit-down dinner, drinks and conversation. Set in a warm ambiance, the large chef's table seats 12 guests and can be customized to accommodate birthday parties, showers, corporate events and other gatherings. The menu changes quarterly to provide fresh produce from locally sourced ingredients. Currently, the autumn lineup tempts with dishes like roasted squash and quail, pan-seared halibut, mushroom farro croquette and chestnut chocolate cake.
L’eau Studio offers after-school classes for kids ages 6-13 as well as summer culinary camps. Attend a Hi-Tea event with themes like "Tea around the World" or DIY workshops to craft floral art or natural beauty products. Hi-Teas cater to both children and adults, serving sweets from custards to crepes.
