We all love our town in the Texas Hill Country! Despite the high density developments eating away at the beautiful landscapes, we can understand everyone wanting to relocate here. For outdoor activities, there is Cibolo Nature Center, River Road Park, Boerne Lake, the extensive Boerne trail system, and numerous State Parks and Recreational Areas close by. Bucket List Item # 1 Splash in the water: Cibolo Nature Center offers a wealth of tall oaks, walking trails, educational activities and marshes to look for wildlife, reptiles and insects. Bucket List Item # 2 Paint rocks: It is always fun to find the colorful rocks that are placed throughout town - left there by creative children and adults. Select your paints or markers and gather rocks to paint with pretty colors or your favorite animal or flower. Bucket List Item #3 Go on a picnic: There are plenty of places to purchase food for outdoor dining, from a full-scale picnic at the Lake to snacking on sandwiches on the trail system, River Road Park, or on the Patrick Heath Public Library grounds. Bucket List Item #4 Enjoy sno-cones: There is a little hut at the corner of River Road and Main Street that offers shaved ice goodies; all cold and sweet and enjoyable on a hot summer day. Bucket List Item #5 Hike the trails: Walking through the dirt-covered trails at Cibolo Nature Center or the concrete trails system in Boerne offer a chance to view the creatures on the creek, the flowers and insects along the trails and collecting rocks for painting or skipping along seeing what you can discover.
