Choregus Productions seeks to bridge the gap between popular culture and the classical performing arts. Choregus Productions is known as one of the leading presenters of contemporary dance in the United States. In the summer of 2016 Choregus Productions began the Summer Heat International Dance Festival, an annual event highlighting contemporary dance companies in performances and educational opportunities for the community and dance students throughout the United States.
This year’s Summer Heat features three diverse companies making their Oklahoma debuts. Summer Heat has something for every dance lover.

Originally from Paris, Manuel Vignoulle now bases his contemporary dance company in New York. M/motions defies the human body’s limits and examines its reaction to challenging situations. For Manuel Vignoulle–M/motions, technique, athleticism, and playfulness are all characteristics that shape the movement’s multifaceted aesthetic. Inspired by various genres of dance, M/motions seeks to unmask the individuality of humanity by developing an array of emotions through storytelling.

Giordano Dance Chicago creates new, innovative jazz dance choreography, often redefining and expanding the very definition of jazz dance. The company brings to audiences of all ages and all ethnicities the universal and life-affirming experience of witnessing dance that’s powerful, passionate, elegant, and celebratory.

Every so often a company bursts onto the dance scene with such original talent and drive that a whole new genre is born. Such as it was with FLY Dance Company. FLY is what happens when street dance and classical music meet. But that’s not all. FLY’s performance style is called “theatrical hip hop” — “theatrical” because acting is an essential element of the style.
