Summer fun at Park Vista Health Center

Assisted Living • Skilled Nursing • Memory Care • Rehabilitation

Barbeques. Ice cream socials. Jazz concerts. Themed parades. The summer season is a decidedly social one for residents of Park Vista Health Center.

For those who would rather enjoy a glass of chilled lemonade over a game of billiards, or soaking up a good book instead of the hot, summer sun – or perhaps a cool blend of the two – there’s plenty of fun to be had.

Social connection and physical wellness combined with intellectual and creative pursuits form the backbone of Park Vista’s philosophy.

“Although our life enrichment programs are active seven days a week, year-round, summer provides special opportunities for residents and their families to make friends, have fun, stay fit, and, most importantly, express themselves to their fullest potential,” says Rachel Torres, Admissions and Marketing Director of Park Vista Health Center.

The stage is set for social events

Nestled in the foothills of North Fullerton, Park Vista Health Center is a community woven together with an acclaimed level of care and compassion, plus all the comforts of home.

As a reputable senior care provider serving North Orange County, a full range of options for assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care needs are available.

Park Vista’s Life enrichment team carefully coordinates the community’s summer social events, including an annual luau complete with hula dancers, themed dining under the stars, outdoor movie nights, and a highly-anticipated Fourth of July family BBQ.

“Our goal is to provide interesting opportunities to spark conversation, comradery, and engagement,” notes a spokesperson for the enrichment team.

“Every day, indoors or out, there is always something fun to do here, where I can interact with my neighbors or just stop by to say hello. Whether it’s my weekly partner’s card game or a grand community dinner with live entertainment, the staff goes to great lengths to provide something for everyone.” – Diane P., Assisted Living Resident

The perfect path to physical well-being

Park Vista celebrates healthy, fresh fare, offering seasonal favorites such as hydrating fruit bowls and fruit-infused water to residents throughout the day.

A glance at the Park Vista menu reveals chef-inspired summer favorites, including veggie spring rolls, gazpacho, herb-crusted salmon, Italian chopped salad, and Mediterranean chicken lettuce wraps.

Residents can enjoy meals in a traditional restaurant setting, as casual alfresco dining, or via private in-room service.

Just in time for summer, the living room has recently been repurposed into a new bistro and bar where residents can socialize or simply relax.

An active and fulfilling lifestyle at Park Vista means an abundance of engaging activities, including Wii Bowling, an old-fashioned beanbag toss, balance and mobility classes, or gardening activities.

“Chef Raul creates the most diverse dish selections! Every week it’s something new, but I can still look forward to my favorites, like eggs benedict. There are vegetarian and gluten-free options, as well as low-salt, low-carb, and low-sugar choices. And no matter what time of day I dine, the servers always know my name.”

Explore the many intellectual and creative outlets available

At Park Vista, residents select from a range of activities and classes meant to stimulate the mind, engage the spirit, and spark the imagination.

Intriguing opportunities include arts and crafts, baking and cooking demonstrations, book club, bingo, piano nights and sing-alongs, and everyday fun “brain stimulators,” such as crossword puzzles and word searches.

This summer, the campus is looking forward to welcoming guest speakers and performers to their recently redesigned and redecorated activity center, library, theater, and lounge.

“I am so thankful for everyone here who makes sure my mind is stimulated, my fingers nimble, and my heart engaged. The staff always lets me know about special art competitions, craft fairs, and other opportunities to flex my creative muscle.”
