Summer conjures up images of family time and fun in the sun. Yet, it's also a good time to take care of dental needs before kids return to school and teens go off to college, something the team at Newtown Dentistry knows firsthand.

Newtown Dentistry is a full-service practice at 46 Blacksmith Road for all ages, offering a spectrum of services from routine cleanings and dental procedures to orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry, including teeth whitening. The practice is home to different specialists to address all aspects of oral development and oral care, offering a one-stop shop for dental and oral needs for the entire family. Parents and children can be seen at the same time, and dual appointments for those with braces are even offered where patients can get their teeth cleaned while also having their braces adjusted (with the wires out).

Summer is a great time to start treatment so patients can get adjusted to the appliances and develop good oral hygiene habits early, states Heather Albert, D.M.D., Newtown Dentistry's board-certified orthodontist. The practice offers complimentary orthodontic consultations with a customized treatment plan to fit the needs of both kids and adults. Both metal and clear braces, with a variety of complementary colors, are available as well as 3M Clarity aligners, retainers and sports guards. “Adults and teens really like the option of clear aligners. The aligner technology has come so far, allowing us to treat more complex cases," says Dr. Heather.

Innovation is important to the team at Newtown Dentistry. For orthodontics, they employ a 3D scanner, eliminating the need for traditional impressions, and digital X-rays, allowing for precise treatment planning. When it comes to general dentistry, artificial intelligence (AI) technology is used to detect cavities, while wisdom teeth are evaluated using a state-of-the-art 3-D pan machine.

In fact, the wisdom teeth evaluation process begins early, with a trusted oral surgeon performing evaluations in all patients, especially those undergoing orthodontics, following treatment completion or around age 15.

Newtown Dentistry operates based on the philosophy that no two patients are the same. “Treatment is 100% customized for each patient,” says Christine Landes, D.M.D., a board-certified pediatric dentist known around the office as Dr. Chris. “No one is the same, and your treatment shouldn’t be either.”

In addition, the practice ensures all patients can receive comprehensive, quality dental work by offering in-house saving plans for those who are uninsured or underinsured.

Dr. Chris says this personalized approach extends to their ability to make sure children and teens feel comfortable and at ease during procedures. These professionals make it their mission to develop personal connections with each patient. Additionally, team members are always available by phone, even outside of office hours, with Dr. Chris answering all of her emergency calls.

Many people experience anxiety, inconvenience and financial unknowns at dental offices. Conversely, the Newtown Dentistry team members assure that they've created a fun, immersive experience where children and adults can feel at home, and part of the extended dental group at the office, by providing care without fear, as well as convenient, multi-practice scheduling and simple financial solutions, such as an in-house dental savings plan.

“We offer a personal family feel that is lost in today’s world,” Dr. Chris adds.

Newtown Dentistry patients seem to agree. “The entire experience is enjoyable, relaxing and professional. It's a breath of fresh air,” says one satisfied, loyal patient.

Adds another patient, “My kids have so much fun when they go to see Dr. Chris that I have a hard time getting them to leave after their appointment. Everything is exceptional, from the kind greeters and the relaxing music to the level of cleanliness and the age-appropriate care to the knowledge of the dentist.”

“Seeing the families smile and have fun while they are in their dental home” is what makes Dr. Chris smile the most, she says.

Maggie Rosenberger, D.M.D., a general dentistry practitioner at Newtown Dentistry, adds, “We’re able to serve our awesome community of patients in all aspects of their dental needs and have a great time with the best team doing it.”
