Start Planning Your Summer of Fun with WB Parks

Looking for your next summer adventure? The fun starts right here with West Bloomfield Parks, offering a vast array of programs and events plus more than 600 acres of parkland.

Whether you’re looking to learn a new skill, relax on the concert hill or just enjoy the beautiful weather, summer is one of the best times to explore the outdoors. Time spent in nature is a great way to reset. You'll develop new connections and learn about West Bloomfield’s robust and diverse natural resources.

West Bloomfield Parks strives to ignite “the nature of community.” With more than a dozen parks located throughout the township, your next adventure is waiting right outside.  

This summer, join a class, turn up the fun at our community special events and concert series, find your favorite new park or trail and make this staycation one to remember. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Sunset Yoga
July 16 through August 27, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

A summertime favorite every year. Meet at the top of the hill at Marshbank Park for a rejuvenating sunset yoga practice. This is guided class with music invites participants to relax while taking in the beauty of a Michigan summer sunset. The best part? No yoga experience is necessary to join. Watch your worries melt away and enjoy this soothing and mindful addition to your summer evening schedule.

Explore New Trails

Get your steps in this summer and explore West Bloomfield’s expansive trail network. Check out the WB Trail, a former railroad that makes up a portion of the Great-Lake-to-Lake Trail. Stop by the West Bloomfield Nature Preserve and meander the wooded path that is home to over 100 bird species, red fox, salamanders and more. Finally, reach your summer fitness goals at Drake Sports Park, which features our paved walking path with fit trac stations.

Marshbank Music                                                                                                                Wednesdays in August, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Come to the concert hill at Marshbank Park for great tunes and food. Enjoy free, live
entertainment with four concerts every Wednesday in August. Each concert features a different
genre as well as a variety of food trucks, guaranteeing a fun and unique musical
experience.

  • August 5 – Infinity and Beyond: A Journey Tribute
  • August 12 – Lost West: Rock & Country
  • August 19 – Klay N’ The Mud: Pop Rock
  • August 26 – Mainstreet Soul: Top 40 Hits

Bees, Butterflies & Blooms: A Pollinator Festival
August 22, 10 a.m. to noon

Buzz and flutter around Marshbank Park as you learn the importance of our pollinators.
Discover the beautiful world of Michigan’s native bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects that help our ecosystem thrive. Experience live butterfly displays, free native seed giveaways and more at this free festival. Numerous hands-on activity stations include:

  • Monarch tagging with butterfly release
  • Free face painting
  • Beeswax craft
  • Sweep netting to look for our native pollinators
  • Interactive talks with Bees in the D
