Summer Travel Hot Spots

Not sure where to travel this summer? We've got you covered.

It's being called "Revenge Travel" – taking off and taking revenge on not being able to travel in 2020. With school and COVID-19 winding down, temperatures heating up, where are you ready to take off and seek vengeance?

The good news is that more than 50 percent of the country is now vaccinated, and many countries around the world have opened, giving both cautious and adventurous travelers wonderful places to take off to. Make sure you've had both of your COVID-19 vaccines at least two weeks before you plan to leave, have all your travel documents in place, and spin the globe.

The number one destination of choice this summer is campgrounds and national parks. However, if you haven't made your reservations by now, especially during the holidays, you may be out of luck. But don't despair. The world is wide, the country is glorious and we're just getting started.

For those of you intrepid travelers ready to get back in the air, popular spots in the United States are Hawaii, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Alaska and the East Coast beach communities, such as the beautiful states of Maine and New Hampshire. Las Vegas (what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas) continues to heat up...literally and figuratively.

Wanderlust getting the best of you and that passport burning a hole in your hand? Greece, Croatia and Iceland are open to U.S. visitors, while other European countries continue to change day-by-day. Jamaica and Mexico continue to be popular for Caribbean vacationers. And...drum roll...cruises are starting up again in June are booking up fast.

Be mindful that COVID-19 rules and guidelines for all destinations are constantly changing, so please be sure to check the government websites like www.travel.state.gov to see what you need to know before you take off. Also, very important before you pack is purchasing travel insurance. Make sure you know what is covered – or not covered – in each policy, so you and your family are properly covered for any and all unforeseen reason.

Now get out there, make new memories, fill up that bucket list of dream vacations. Because living well is the best revenge.

Living well is the best revenge.
