Fun Events Provide Good Times For The Entire Family

Summer is a great time to get outside and enjoy some of the good things that our community has to offer. From fireworks to balloon festivals, Hendersonville and Sumner County is home to some of the best outdoor events in middle Tennessee. This month, Hendersonville Lifestyle is happy to bring you the 411 on three of the largest and most popular celebrations in our area.

Hendersonville Freedom Festival

July 3, 2022 – 5 until 10

The Hendersonville Freedom Festival is held annually on July 3 at Drakes Creek Park. Drawing thousands of visitors each year, it is the city’s premier event.

The festival offers a family-friendly environment filled with music, food, vendor booths and fun, topped off by one of the Midstate’s best fireworks shows. It also offers a special Kids’ Zone featuring games and inflatable bounce houses that are sure to delight all the little ones.

To get your Independence Day celebration started off right, be sure head over to the park for the Freedom Festival.

Admission: Free

Kids’ Zone: $5.00 per child

 

Independence Day Celebration

Each year, Moss-Wright Park in scenic Goodlettsville is home to one of the area’s best Independence Day celebrations.

The event features a variety of activities that culminate in an incredible fireworks show. Prior to the fireworks, attendees are treated to a variety of fun activities, including music, vendor booths and a large selection of food trucks.

For younger guests, there is an Activity Zone that will offer inflatables, games and a foam-covered play area provided by the fire department.

For a truly memorable Independence Day, Goodlettsville is the place to be.

Sumner Fest

August 6, 2022 – 4 until 9

Sumner Fest is the area’s fastest-growing hot air balloon festival. Held at beautiful Sanders Ferry Park on the shores of Old Hickory Lake, the family-friendly event provides an evening filled with music, food, vendor booths and nonstop musical entertainment.

Along with the balloons and music, there will also be a special Kids’s Zone that will have games and inflatables for children of all ages.

Throughout the event, balloons will provide a colorful backdrop for the celebration. Weather permitting, tethered balloon rides will offer gorgeous aerial views of the surroundings. At the end of the evening, the balloons will put on a spectacular “glow” display.
