K-38 Beach Mex Cantina Brings Fresh Mexican Food to Chandler

In a town full of Mexican eateries, one stands out for its vibrance, color and larger-than-life flair—K-38 Beach Mex Cantina on Alma School and Ocotillo in Chandler.

Named after a popular cluster of excellent surf breaks located at kilometer 38 of the Baja Highway in Baja California, Mexico, K-38 strives to stand out above the rest with its scratch kitchen, quality ingredients, and excellent service.

The owners of K-38, husband-and-wife-team Anthony and Melissa Games, decided to open their own eatery after years of working in the restaurant industry after moving from California to Phoenix.

“We were part of the team of a restaurant group and helped to open over 25 restaurants across the country,” says Melissa. “It was always a dream of ours to have our own place and express ourselves through food and world-class service.”

K-38, which is located at 1155 W. Ocotillo Road, prides itself on quality food made from the freshest ingredients. The menu features dishes inspired by the cuisine of Baja.

“We take authentic ingredients and add a modern twist,” Melissa shares. “We want our food to be delicious and extremely exciting.”

Popular menu items include the Loaded Guac, made fresh daily with ripe avocados, mango pico de gallo, and pomegranate seeds; made-to-order Baja Fish Tacos; and the Surf and Turf Burrito, which is stuffed with filet mignon carne asada and margarita-grilled shrimp.

K-38's cocktail selection features Micheladas and 15 different margaritas, all made from fresh fruit juices and 100 percent Blue Weber Agave tequilas.

“Our margarita flight is really popular, and so is the La Bomba Michelada, made with a 32 oz. Corona Familiar. It's really over-the-top.”

“Over-the-top” is the ideal description for K-38, from the eclectic Instagram-worthy menu items to the vibrant murals and artwork found throughout the surf-inspired eatery.

“We try to be anything but traditional,” Melissa says.

The Games' have fallen in love with Chandler and have created an innovative way to give back to the community. K-38's Chips for Charity is a program in which the proceeds from every $3 order of chips and salsa are donated to local Chandler schools.

“Chandler is an incredible community that we are excited to be a part of,” says Melissa. “It is our pleasure to give back.”

K-38 Beach Mex Cantina also has a spacious patio from which to enjoy the beautiful Arizona spring weather. There are also daily specials, weekday happy hours, Margarita Mondays, Tako Tuesdays, and Kids Eat Free Wednesdays.
