Among the variety of "Tap List Frisco" beer offerings at The Common Table, interesting, refreshing cocktails and wine can be found. Common Table's owner, Roadman Shields, kindly shared the following fun recipe for Skittles Sangria. For a themed party, fall gathering or Halloween, consider serving this Sangria with only autumn-colored Skittles, such as the orange, grape and green apple ones.
Note that this summer's limited edition Skittles, which were inspired by freeze pops, include the flavors of blue raspberry, lemon, grape, orange and strawberry if you desire more colors for drinks. For those feeling brave, there's also lip-smacking Skittles Sour Wild Berry!
SKITTLES SANGRIA
INGREDIENTS:
4 ounces orange juice
4 ounces lemon juice
4 ounces lime juice
1 tablespoon simple syrup
1/4 cup triple sec
1/2 cup brandy
Select type of wine according to taste:
For Red Sangria, add 16 ounces of red wine.
For Passion Fruit Sangria, add 16 ounces of white wine.
INSTRUCTIONS:
In a large pitcher, mix together juices, syrup, triple sec, brandy and selection of wine. Cover mixture and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 4 hours before serving to let those flavors meld together. "Garnish" by adding a handful of Skittles candy to each wine glass for fun pops of color, along with orange or lime slices on the glass rim, if desired.
