Sweet Treats of Days Gone By

The Peach Cobbler Factory aims to bring loved ones and friends together by offering nostalgic desserts and treats to West Cobb

What do you get when you combine the expertise and attention to detail that only an accountant can possess and the discipline and work ethic of a retired Air Force Veteran? You get a recipe for success! Dee and Derrick Titley, owners of The Peach Cobbler Factory-Marietta, say you can be witness to ‘a nostalgic dessert experience’ as you bite into one of their sweet treats.

Did you have a prior relationship with someone that encouraged you to enter into this restaurant venture?

My journey into the dessert business comes from a mix of passions. While the love for great food and desserts has always been there, the real ‘why’ behind this venture is about creating a welcoming space where people can connect and enjoy quality treats. My childhood bestie Ericka Toms, owner of Peach Cobbler Factory Knoxville, Tennessee, was the first to bring the opportunity to my attention. After much consideration my spouse and I met with corporate, did a little homework and here we are!

Why did you want to open a dessert business? Are there elements and experiences from your childhood that may have entered into the decision-making process?

Although I’ve always loved sweets, I actually thought my first business would be a clothing store. However, food has always been a part of my life. My grandmother and her sister owned a restaurant, so I grew up around the restaurant business. I remember looking forward to summer vacations at Grandma's house, because I could eat big, fat burgers with fries and drink root beer in a small, welcoming environment where families gathered throughout the day.  Looking back, maybe it was my destiny to be in the food industry, after all.

What is special about The Peach Cobbler Factory? How do you think your food and beverage establishment fits into the Marietta/West Cobb landscape?

Where else in the world can you go and get twelve flavors of good old- fashioned cobblers, just like grandma used to make with ice cream on top and twelve flavors of banana puddings? If that’s not enough, we incorporate the cobblers and puddings into our shakes, creating Cobbler and Pudd-N-Shakes. We offer a variety of comforting, indulgent desserts that everybody can enjoy.

In Marietta, our establishment fits right in. We provide a welcoming space where families, friends, and dessert lovers can gather and enjoy sweet treats all day and late into the night. Whether its locals looking for a new favorite dessert spot, or visitors wanting to experience something different, we have it all and we’re excited to be part of Marietta’s vibrant food scene.

What are your goals for the future? Do you plan to expand or add locations in various cities?

Our goal for the future is to continue growing and bring this concept to more communities. Yes, we plan to open two more locations, one in Douglasville and another somewhere in the Atlanta area.

Do you have plans for community outreach or events that will not only help your business grow, but include your customers in your success?

Absolutely! As we celebrate our first year in business, we’re excited to focus more on community outreach and events that bring people together. We’ve already hosted our first toy and coat drive with Simple Needs Georgia and we also participated in sponsorships with two of the local high schools, Sprayberry High School Football Team and Hillgrove Basketball Team. We look forward to continuing to give back through initiatives like charity partnerships, customer appreciation events, and local fundraisers.
