Talk of The Neighborhood

Live Local. Shop Local this Father's Day and every day.

Let’s step into some of THE BEST places to shop for the most distinguished tastes and styles, especially when it comes to all things related to guys.

The Brothers Beer & Bourbon House in Sunset Hills is owned by brothers Danny and Jeff Gustafson and Bob Sears. We picked up a bottle of RallyPoint Maple Sunset, an extremely rare, limited-edition spirit that begins as our flagship Rye Whiskey and is carefully finished with notes of bourbon and beautiful maple syrup from local distiller Still 630.

Zack Clark, co-owner of The Summit All Seasons Market at the Kirkwood Farmers’ Market, put together a savory selection of local meats, sauces, and spices for our favorite foodies. Also, shout out to the woman in the photo with Zach - WE LOVE YOUR HAT!

If you think Laurie’s Shoes in Glendle is just for kids, think again. Owners Sam Baker and Scott Waldman carry everything from Adidas to Ugg. For the man in your life, think Cole Haan, Ecco, Johnston & Murphy, and Mephisto. Why are you shopping at Nordstrom’s when you can shop local?

And why are you buying clothes online? Discover curated selections from Lander Haus Mercantile and custom styles from H.M. Cole. Have you met Zach Mione, the owner of Webster Dry Goods? Chilliest guy with a great selection of clothes in the store. Stop in and have a beer, and maybe strike up a conversation with Chris Kinast of Perennial on Lockwood.

One of the best gifts for giving (and getting) is a piece of local art. If you missed the Webster Arts Fair, check out the pieces on display and for sale at Webster Arts or at the Glendale Grind in Glendale.

Cheers to everyone who celebrates and supports our small businesses.
