Did you know that Highland Park Village is America’s first shopping center? The Dallas trailblazer of fashion and style—built in 1931, the same year that the “Star Spangled Banner” became the national anthem—pioneered the concept of the architecturally unified outdoor shopping center that would go on to spark similar constructions around the country.

For almost a century, Highland Park Village has brought highly sought-after designers and apparel to the heart of the Park Cities, and the shops have continued to evolve through today. This fall, four exclusive brands are making their debut at Highland Park Village: SIMKHAI and Brioni, which are now open, and LOEWE and Balmain, opening soon. They are joining the likes of Ralph Lauren, Chanel, Hermès, Jimmy Choo, Fendi, Valentino, Alexander McQueen, Carolina Herrera, and Tom Ford.

“Our goal is to continue to bring the most exciting, unique, and prestigious brands from both around the globe and locally to Highland Park Village,” says Stephen Summers of Highland Park Village. “For three of the esteemed global fashion brands, the openings mark the first standalone locations in Texas, and we could not be more thrilled to welcome them to Dallas.”

Those three—SIMKHAI, Brioni, and LOEWE—are at the forefront of cutting-edge luxury design and will continue to elevate the shopper’s experience at Highland Park Village. hpvillage.com

IT’S A DATE:

At the end of this month, September 29-October 1, you can experience both the old and new at Highland Park Village during the annual SMU Family Weekend Shopping Stroll. This is a fun weekend for students and their families to shop and sample, with a host of complimentary activations and discounts to welcome students and families to HP Village.

SIMKHAI

Jonathan Simkhai opened his first store more than a decade ago. The Los Angeles-based designer and his brand remain focused on quality and originality and are celebrated for invigorating work that merges forward-thinking structure with intimate touches to create extraordinary garments. “We make our clothing with so much craft and attention to detail and so much emphasis on quality,” Jonathan said on the website. There’s something “magical,” he said, about the many talented team members and people who chose to come together and be part of this brand. The Highland Park Village location, which is now open, is the fourth retail space featuring his internationally renowned brand that specializes in ready-to-wear items and swimwear, along with handbags and footwear.

Brioni

Effortless modern elegance has been a hallmark of Brioni since opening its doors in Rome back in 1945. The company’s long-tenured leadership role in fashion worldwide continues to underscore the legendary Italian brand’s unparalleled dedication to superior men’s style. Brioni speaks to a sophisticated audience with clothing that is as breathtaking as it is comfortable. Timeless tailoring in formal styles and leisurewear is designed for modern life, an emphatic statement about the brand’s commitment to excellence and the power of authenticity. Brioni’s ready-to-wear leather goods, shoes, accessories, and stunning formalwear and leisurewear, as well as distinctive fragrances, are all wrapped in the company’s illustrious, state-of-the-art, personalized service, and is now open in Highland Park Village.

LOEWE

With an impressive history that spans nearly 175 years, LOEWE represents one of the world’s longest-tenured luxury houses. What began as a modest collective of Spanish leather makers has stood the test of time and grown into an international brand with a distinguished reputation, devoted to technique and unrivaled expertise with leather. With the addition of a prominent new creative director, a fresh brand design, and a series of critically acclaimed, genre-defining collections, LOEWE has reached new heights. The Highland Park Village boutique, which is slated to open this fall, will carry exclusive fashions for women and men, including ready-to-wear, bags, small leather goods, and accessories, as well as an array of sterling silver jewelry.
