Tastefully Yours Catering

Preserving a Beloved Catering Legacy While Creating Thoughtful, Personalized Experiences That Make Every Celebration Uniquely Yours

Some businesses begin with a business plan. Tastefully Yours began, in a way, with a wedding.

When Hunter Scheffler and his wife, Christine, married in 2019, they discovered something unexpected in the process: they loved creating an experience people would remember. The details, the atmosphere, the way a celebration could bring people together stayed with them long after the last guest went home.

That spark became The Gardenia Venue in Valley View, which they completed and opened in September 2021. As they built relationships with vendors across North Texas, one company consistently stood out: Tastefully Yours Catering.

“They always had the nicest staff, had the best customer experience, and of course, the best food,” Hunter recalls.

So, when he learned at the end of 2023 that the longtime owners were preparing to retire and sell the company, the opportunity felt less like a pivot and more like a natural next chapter. Hunter and Christine acquired Tastefully Yours, officially taking over in January 2025 with a clear intention: honor what had made the company beloved for decades while giving it room to grow.

That balance between legacy and possibility now defines Tastefully Yours.

For a company built around celebrations, that evolution feels especially fitting. Tastefully Yours is preserving the recipes, relationships and reputation that earned generations of trust while making it easier for today’s clients to dream bigger, personalize more, and spend less time coordinating the pieces themselves.

The made-from-scratch food and high level of service remain at the heart of the business, but clients can now find more of what they need under one roof. Hunter and Christine have expanded in-house rentals to include linens, napkins, flatware and glassware, created a showroom where clients can make selections in person, and added bar and alcohol services.

The result is more than convenience. It’s a more cohesive, inclusive experience, built around the belief that catering should never feel like simply choosing food from a list.

“Our catering directors work hand in hand with clients to create custom, personalized menus that fit any vision,” Hunter says.

That might mean an elegant plated gala dinner one weekend and a playful menu built around a themed celebration the next. The team carries that vision beyond flavor, incorporating custom décor, thoughtful setups and food presentation designed to feel like part of the event itself.

And behind every plate is a team Page Lewellen, Director of Catering, says is one of the company’s greatest strengths.

“We’re fortunate to still have some of the same team members who were here when we started,” Page says. “Their experience, loyalty, and knowledge of our clients and events have become such an important part of who we are today.”

Longtime employees work alongside newer team members and family, creating a culture that blends history with fresh energy. It’s a fitting reflection of the company itself.

Some traditions, after all, are too good to change. For example, the Twisted Bacon.

“Without question, our signature favorite is our Twisted Bacon,” Page says. The longtime Tastefully Yours staple has developed such a following that clients call throughout the year specifically to order it. At some events, it’s practically the guest of honor.

But the memories Tastefully Yours helps create are not always found on a menu.

Page remembers one wedding where the couple skipped a traditional cake altogether. Mid-celebration, an ice cream truck arrived. Guests headed outside to choose treats, fireworks began overhead, and “Thank You for Being a Friend” played.

“It was completely unexpected, wonderfully personal, and felt so perfectly suited to the couple,” she says.

That story captures what this team understands so well: the best events feel unmistakably like the people at the center of them.

It’s also why Tastefully Yours continues looking for ways to make the planning process more personal. The company is expanding tasting and open-house events, inviting clients to experience the food, explore menus, ask questions and discover possibilities in person rather than trying to imagine an entire celebration from a proposal.

That sense of connection extends beyond events. Tastefully Yours supports SafeHaven of Tarrant County by donating food and catering certificates for fundraising auctions, using what the team does best to serve an organization providing critical support to victims of domestic violence.

For Page, the privilege of this work is found in its variety and its meaning. Weddings. Birthdays. Showers. Corporate milestones. Family celebrations. No two are exactly alike, because no two stories are.

“We’re not simply putting food on a table,” Page says. “We’re helping create an experience that reflects the people, occasion, and vision behind each event.”

Perhaps that’s the real recipe behind Tastefully Yours. The food matters deeply. So does the presentation. So do the details. But beneath all of it is something harder to put on a menu: intention.

“When all of those things come together,” Page says, “that’s when catering becomes more than just feeding people. It becomes part of the memory they’re making.”

And that’s exactly what Tastefully Yours is serving.

“We’re not simply putting food on a table. We’re helping create an experience that reflects the people, occasion, and vision behind each event.”
