Jeff Gale
Firefighters protect lives and property by responding to emergencies and providing essential rescue services. Jeff Gale of CJCFPD emphasizes the rewarding nature of his work, stating, “Working alongside my crew to tackle challenges during our calls is incredibly fulfilling.” Inspired by his parents—his mother a teacher and his father a police officer—Jeff initially considered becoming a paramedic but found his passion for firefighting at the fire station. For him, the most rewarding aspect is helping the community. “When we arrive, it often means someone is having a tough day, and our training focuses on making those moments a little better.”
Alex McIntyre
Becoming a police officer is crucial for protecting communities through calls, investigations, and reports. Blue Springs Officer Alex McIntyre envisioned this role but discovered the true reward of working with a supportive team. “It makes coming to work effortless and strengthens my commitment to safety,” he explains. Captivated by flashing lights from a young age, Alex finds satisfaction in improving the city through positive interactions. Inspired by selfless football players and coaches, he sought a career where hard work leads to success for the team and the community, which he experiences daily as an officer.
Briana Lutes
Joining the military wasn’t initially on Briana Lutes’ radar. “After some reflection, I realized it could provide the confidence and skills I sought, giving me a greater sense of purpose,” she shares. The most rewarding part of her military career has been the incredible people she’s met, forming lifelong friendships with those who share a military lifestyle. Serving in the Missouri National Guard has also allowed her to support communities during disasters and her deployment to Afghanistan. “I’ve learned that support comes in many forms, and I know I’ve made a positive impact.”
Jordan Lockwood
Jordan Lockwood’s passion for teaching ignited in 8th grade when he read Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. He realized that history is about real stories and lessons. “This book sparked a fire within me, and I knew I wanted to teach and share my love for history,” he recalls. The most rewarding part of education for Jordan is witnessing the lasting impact on students. “Whether it’s a former student returning
