Little Black Book (LBB) is an organization of female professionals committed to business and personal development who also strive to grow their individual network and community through service and charity. In 2013, LBB founded BrrrBASH, a large-scale collaborative toy collection to benefit Toys for Tots.
The 2020 LBB BrrrBASH kicked off its eighth annual toy drive on November 1st when collection boxes were placed into the community, and concludes December 12th with a celebration at the Foundry Art Centre in Historic Saint Charles. This sold-out event includes dinner, open bar, live music, dancing, raffles, silent auction, and a photobooth for party pics.
Little Black Book partners with over 100 local businesses in four counties, along with the cities of Wentzville, Lake St Louis, O'Fallon and St. Peters, and numerous Fire Protection Districts in St Charles County to actively collect toys and money for the charity.
Since 2013, LBB has donated over 29,500 toys to the Toys for Tots Foundation, all of which are distributed in the Greater St. Louis area. For the past three years, BrrrBASH has accounted for 20% of the total number of toys distributed by the U.S. Marines to happy children at Christmas.
“We are proud to know that LBB is the third largest donor in the greater St. Louis region, and that St. Louis is the third largest collection in the United States,” says LBB Founder Angel Magasano.
In addition to distributing toys to the area's needy children, the BrrrBASH provides funding for local businesses, students, and other charities as well. In 2019, $10,000 was donated to We Love St. Charles, a local non-profit dedicated to mentoring impoverished families, individuals, and at-risk youth through family support and intervention, homelessness prevention, and job training.
It may be too late to attend this year's BrrrBASH, but you can drop off a new, unwrapped toy at any of the participating 100+ locations through December 9th. Locations are listed at BrrrBash.com/collection-sites.
