For Angel’s Envy, great bourbon is only the beginning. Founded in 2010 by legendary whiskey maker Lincoln Henderson, the brand was built around a simple question: What happens when great bourbon is finished in another type of barrel? That experiment laid the foundation for Angel’s Envy and its distinctive approach to finishing bourbon in carefully selected barrels.
Today, the brand continues to explore what is possible. “We’re focused on continuing to push the boundaries of what American whiskey can be while staying true to the craftsmanship that the brand is revered for,” says Angel Teta, Global Brand Ambassador. “We don’t want to change whiskey just for the sake of changing it, but instead find ways to add layers and bring new flavors to American whiskey.”
That spirit of experimentation continues with new expressions from Master Distiller Owen Martin. This fall, whiskey enthusiasts can look forward to an exclusive distillery release in Louisville and Volume 6 of the Cellar Collection, available nationally.
One of the brand’s most memorable milestones was the 2022 grand reopening of the Angel’s Envy Distillery. The destination introduced new tasting rooms, a Bottle Your Own experience and an invitation-only bar. “There’s nothing better than the surprise and delight I see on their faces when they walk in!” Teta says.
Angel’s Envy also maintains a strong presence throughout Southlake and DFW, with its whiskey available at local restaurants, bars and stores. New brand ambassador Lilly Rasoul will bring her flair and charm to unique events and education in the area.
Beyond the bottle, Angel’s Envy gives back through its Toast the Trees partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation. Since 2014, the program has helped replenish American White Oak trees used in bourbon barrels while supporting tree planting in urban communities.
And when it comes to enjoying Angel’s Envy, Teta keeps it simple: “There’s no right or wrong way to enjoy it.” For a refreshing way to raise a glass, she recommends the Peach Smash, an easy-to-make cocktail perfect for sharing with friends.
SIGNATURE COCKTAIL, PEACH SMASH
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz ANGEL'S ENVY Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels
3/4 oz REÀL Peach Syrup
1/4 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
3 oz Fever Tree Sparkling Sicilian Lemonade
Directions:
Pour all ingredients into a highball glass filled with ice and stir.
Top with Fever Tree Sicilian Lemonade.
Garnish with a mint and peach ring and enjoy!
