The Cullum Style of Care

The Concierge Service Behind Effortless Homeownership

A child’s fish was in trouble.

When a power outage threatened its aquarium, the Cullum Care team did not simply check the equipment or call the family with an update. They took the aquarium home and cared for the fish until power was restored.

They have reunited a lost puppy with its owners, handled groceries and essential errands for clients going through difficult times and performed wellness checks at the request of concerned family members. They have met transport trucks to receive clients’ vehicles and even taken Ferraris out for a drive while seasonal homeowners were away so the cars would not sit idle.

At first glance, those requests may sound far removed from luxury home management. In reality, they reveal exactly what Cullum Care was created to do.

“We don’t just care for homes,” the Cullum Care team says. “We care for the people who live in them.”

Cullum Care grew from a philosophy that has guided Cullum Homes since Rod and Kim Cullum founded the company in 1985. For more than 40 years, the family-owned builder has been known for custom residences shaped around the people who will live in them. But the company recognized that even the most thoughtfully designed home continues to require attention long after construction is complete.

Luxury, after all, should not end at move-in.

Homeowners wanted one trusted team they could call instead of coordinating a revolving list of vendors, appointments and property needs. Cullum Care became that single point of contact, offering luxury home management and personalized concierge services to Cullum homeowners as well as owners of other luxury residences throughout the Valley.

Each client is paired with a dedicated Cullum Care Representative who learns the home in detail, from its materials and mechanical systems to the rhythms and preferences of the people living there.

That familiarity matters in a custom home. Natural stone, specialty finishes, custom millwork, integrated technology, advanced lighting, water features and sophisticated HVAC systems cannot always be maintained with a standard checklist. Arizona adds another layer of complexity, with extreme heat, dust, intense sun and monsoon storms placing constant pressure on roofs, drainage systems, landscaping and exterior finishes.

For clients enrolled in the VIP Maintenance Program, the process begins with a comprehensive assessment. From there, Cullum Care develops a plan based on the home’s systems, maintenance needs and the homeowner’s lifestyle. A primary residence may require one level of attention, while a seasonal property that sits unoccupied for part of the year requires another.

Regular home checks are designed to catch the details a homeowner might not see. The team monitors plumbing, HVAC performance, irrigation, battery backups, water heaters, drainage and smart home systems while watching for subtle signs of wear.

During one inspection, the team discovered a slow plumbing leak hidden behind cabinetry. There were no visible signs inside the home, but identifying it early prevented extensive water damage and a far more expensive repair.

Drainage is another easily overlooked concern, particularly during monsoon season. A blocked roof or landscape drain may seem minor until water begins moving toward, rather than away from, the home.

Protecting the residence, however, is only part of the service.

Cullum Care can stock groceries and beverages before a homeowner arrives, accept packages, coordinate floral arrangements, make restaurant reservations, oversee holiday decorating, prepare for guests and events or handle personal shopping. When a client is away, the representative can schedule vendors, provide access, oversee the work and send photos and updates.

The result is not simply a well-maintained property. It is a home that is ready to be lived in the moment its owners walk through the door.

That may be the most meaningful definition of luxury: not more things to manage, but the freedom to enjoy what you have created.

For Cullum Care clients, peace of mind comes from knowing someone is paying attention before a small concern becomes a costly problem and that when something unexpected happens, there is one trusted call to make.

“The most stylish home is one that is beautifully maintained, thoughtfully cared for and always ready to be enjoyed.”

Sometimes that means preserving rare finishes or preparing a home for its owners’ return. Sometimes it means checking the roof before a storm. And sometimes, it means saving the family fish.
