Fourteen years ago, I picked up a camera with the goal of preserving the fleeting moments of motherhood. Driven to capture moments of my children and our everyday life in an evocative way, I taught myself manual mode and discovered a love for savoring home and family through photography. I didn’t realize it then, but this instinct started me on a path I had never envisioned.
As friends started their families, they began asking me to photograph newborn and lifestyle sessions for them. By the time my fourth baby was born, I had “accidentally” started a photography business. But being behind the lens felt natural to me. Over time, I explored different avenues, like wedding photography, but it was lifestyle storytelling that truly resonated and laid the foundation for the business I own today.
I now specialize in interior design and editorial photography, often traveling to design-rich cities like New York, Austin, Denver, and Raleigh. My work has appeared in publications and books including Architectural Digest, Forbes, Clever, House Beautiful, and The Wall Street Journal. Later this year, I’m excited to shoot in Denver again and, for the first time, in Santa Fe and Tahoe.
My path into interiors came through relationships—starting when friends Bailey Austin and Mel Bean trusted me to photograph their Tulsa projects in 2019. Behind the lens, I fell in love with the design industry and its creative community. Interiors now make up the bulk of my work, and in 2022, I hired my first assistant, Vora Quinn, who’s grown into a full-time team member and treasured friend. Much of what I create today is a collaboration between us. Many clients have also become trusted friends, reminding me that this journey, like it began, is deeply rooted in relationships.
Beyond photography, I actively pitch my clients’ work to national media, advocating for Oklahoma designers whose talent deserves wider recognition. I have found that elevating someone’s vision through thoughtful imagery and strategic placement is deeply rewarding.
Beyond interiors, I’m also passionate about artist portraiture—documenting makers in their element, from a ceramist’s messy hands at the wheel to the stories and color that shape their work. These sessions aren’t just for websites—they honor the labor and soul behind the art.
Another beloved part of my work is Black + White Sessions, which I began nine years ago in my son’s nursery. These timeless, heirloom portraits of children and families are shot in classic black and white. Families return year after year to document their children’s growth, and these sessions, held monthly in Tulsa and occasionally in OKC and Dallas, remain deeply fulfilling to me. I don’t see myself ever stopping them.
My photography journey has been anything but linear. It began with a mother’s instinct to hold onto the small things and has evolved into a full-time, multi-dimensional business rooted in storytelling, design, and connection. Balancing this work while raising four young children as a single mother isn’t easy. I’ve dropped the ball more than once and felt the burnout that can come when passion becomes work—but I’ve never lost sight of my purpose. I’m grateful to do this work and to show my children what it means to build something meaningful through perseverance, creativity, heart, and authentic relationships.
