The Evolving World of Anti-Aging and Aesthetic Beauty

Estetica Medspa Owner Talks Trends

Tosha Dove-Freund, RN, MSN, has always had a passion to help others achieve their optimum level of health and beauty.

Born and raised in St. Charles, she obtained her R.N. then spent time in the ER and critical care environment. She has since obtained her Adult Nurse Practitioner License and continues to gain expertise and knowledge within the aesthetic field of health and wellness. With the help of internationally known injection specialists and board-certified plastic surgeons, Tosha obtained master level certifications in Neuromodulators, Dermal Filler, and facial rejuvenation.

She is the Founder & Master Aesthetic Injector for Estetica Medspa in Winghaven.

Tosha explains that the recent trend in the constantly evolving anti-aging and aesthetic industry is “combination therapy,” which includes multiple procedures involving healthy skincare regimens, wrinkle reduction, volume replacement in the aging face, and skin resurfacing and tightening.

“The most popular trend, and not so "tabu" anymore, are Botox and dermal fillers,” she says. “Botox is the number one non-surgical procedure in the U.S. and is beneficial in reducing and preventing facial wrinkles and other signs of aging. These include Botox brow lifts, under eye fillers, hydrated lips, and contouring of the cheeks, temples, and lower face.”

“In addition, Microneedling with PRP (platelet rich plasma) -- a treatment used to increase collagen and assist with uneven skin tone, texture, fine lines, and acne scarring – can be used for facial rejuvenation as well as hair loss,” she adds.

“Kybella is a fat dissolving injectable treatment used to permanently dissolve unwanted fat under the chin and other areas of the body. Combined with radiofrequency or ultrasound, Kybella can provide great results that are least invasive.”

She also recommends a medical grade skincare regimen for optimal results in skin care. “Medical grade products are used to combat skin conditions such as acne, age spots, aging skin, large pores, and broken blood vessels or Rosacea. These products, available under the direct supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner, offer the highest level of active ingredients to actually make changes in the skin. Over the counter products are designed to sit on the surface of the skin while medical grade products penetrate the epidermis which provides a stronger result.”
