In 2019, Tiger Cabinetry started out simply - in a garage. But, thanks to founder Justin Coleman’s hard work, eye for perfection, and quality products, it didn’t stay there long. The company now operates out of an 11,000-square-foot warehouse in Antioch with 20 employees who are as invested in making the company a success as its founder.

“Although owning my own business is extremely stressful, I wouldn't have it any other way,” says Justin. “I'm very proud of where we're at today. We’re doing what we do best and are blessed to be in a market that is so hot right now.”

A lot of people are curious about the name of the company. “It’s very simple; I like tigers,” he says. “When I was 8½ years old, my mother took me to a circus, and I got to feed a baby tiger. I've been obsessed with them ever since.”

Tigers are also beautiful, sleek, and strong, and when installing cabinetry, Justin wants to make sure these qualities are reflected in his work.  “In this business, it's imperative to create something not only beautiful but high-quality that people are going to love. It's a big investment, and we take that very seriously.”

In addition to homeowners, he often works with investors who are either building new homes or flipping homes. One of his favorite projects was completed in July at 226 Lake Terrace Drive in Hendersonville. Built in 1964, the house needed a complete update.

“We’re doing a lot of remodeling as well as new construction,” says Justin. “This kitchen was a complete gut. As much as I absolutely love new construction, I would say the favorite aspect of my job is in the remodeling process. We go from something that’s, say, from 1956 with maybe a little update in the 80s, and we’re bringing it into the modern era. To have those before and after aspects is really intriguing.”

While he likes making a space look new, he believes it’s also important to maintain the character of the home. “With this project, the ceiling beams are original to the home, as is the brick fireplace.”

With the house selling for over $2.5 million, Justin and his team designed a kitchen to fit the luxury price tag. “We used frameless European cabinets, which is one of our higher-end products. One of the things that makes this product more expensive is that I just can't pull it off a shelf. It all gets built to suit.”

These are what he calls hyper-modern cabinets, which are on trend right now, along with very natural wood tones. He incorporated two different color cabinets into the design for an eye-pleasing contrast.

Floating shelves next to the range hood balances out the symmetry, which is critical to the design, and the island is over 14 feet long and can seat over seven people. There are beautiful views of the lake as well.

The investor was thrilled with the completed project and even happier when the house sold for a solid profit. “Beauty is one thing, but at the end of the day, an investor’s goal is to make money. The more economical I can make it for them, the more money that's in their pocket and the better they are at succeeding. We're very fair on our pricing, but we’re also able to put an all-star product in homes because everything we do is high quality.”

Of course, Tiger Cabinetry also offers more economical options. “We’re able to bring any space to life,” says Justin. “We have a wide variety of different cabinet options, but they are all well made. People want to be wowed when they walk into their kitchens because they know they're going to be spending time in there and entertaining people.”

Functionality is also a priority, and before any project is undertaken, a bird's eye view and 3D renderings are produced to make sure everything looks perfect. This technology is not offered by every cabinet company.

“One of the reasons we’ve been so successful is because we're always striving to improve,” he says. “I take that very seriously because a lot of homeowners and investors look to me for education.”

Consistency, efficiency, and attention to detail, paired with the most important aspect of any business – communication – are also what he believes makes Tiger Cabinetry a company in high demand.

“We are predominantly referral-based, so word of mouth, and we’re just striving to be the best. And I think we are the best.”
