Who is Emily Boyd?
“I am a 2025 graduate from Texas Woman’s University with a B.A. in Dance Studies. My passions include performing, fashion, as well as hair and makeup artistry.”
What’s college been like as a performer?
“My college experience has been so fulfilling and a blessing. There are so many talented people I have gotten to learn from at TWU, including the faculty and the tremendous guest artists that they bring in. TWU guided me through my early 20s and has taken me to places I never expected to go. This past summer, I was inspired by one of the guest artists to sign up for an Immersive Dance and Theatre intensive at Montclair State University in New Jersey.”
How did you begin modeling?
“Modeling is something that’s come my way organically. When I was young, my mom and grandma always dressed me up and took my photos. In high school, my friends and I would get together for fun amateur photoshoots around town. Over time, through the many connections I’ve made, I’ve now had the sweetest opportunity of being on the cover of Northlake 3 times.”
Any advice for performers?
“Take as many classes as possible. If you are a dancer, try acting workshops; if you are an aspiring actor, take dance classes! Cross-training is your best friend. Consume as much art as you can and have conversations with everyone. You never know whose ideas might align with yours, and together, you can create something amazing!”
What is a motto you live by?
“Do your work with your whole heart, and you will succeed.” It came from a fortune cookie I once got, and it’s inspired me ever since to stay true to myself."
