The origin story of The Hack, a biohacking wellness center, began with a brain tumor diagnosis. Loren Cook, an attorney, CPA, and owner of Cook Legal Group, was at a work-related conference in 2019 when he had a seizure. The cause of this was traced to a previously undiagnosed meningioma brain tumor that required surgery.

Besides seeking treatment from traditional medicine, Cook sought help from a functional medicine doctor who introduced him to alternative therapies, including Ozone Therapy and Vasper Therapy. At the same time, with the recommendation of his trainer, he began using Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field Therapy (PEMF), which uses technology to stimulate and exercise cells to help resolve cellular dysfunction and support overall wellness. Cook was convinced he was seeing and feeling a difference through these alternative modalities and received confirmation when he went for a follow-up with his physician, who was amazed by his physical recovery and lack of any neurological or cognitive impairment.

Cook's remarkable recovery made him want to share his experience and give people the opportunity to access the same therapies he did. The idea for The Hack began to take shape. Cook made an initial investment in the technology and machinery for the wellness space and began to look for an appropriate location. As with everything else in 2020, plans for the anti-aging and wellness center came to a halt because of COVID-19. However, as soon as businesses began to open again, he got back to work, and The Hack officially opened in May of 2021.

The Hack is Houston's first and only anti-aging and wellness space to offer clients PEMF, Vasper, Hydrogen, and Red Light therapies, as well as a dry sauna and a Hocatt all under one roof. Each machine helps clients achieve their health and wellness goals, including reversing the signs of aging, healing, detoxifying, recovering from injuries, or improving overall health from the inside out.

"The ideal clients for The Hack are men and women who are interested in better health - looking, feeling, and moving better," says Cook. "I think The Hack is for everyone, whether you are just now starting your health journey or you have already committed to it."

HOCATT Using a combination of potent modalities, the HOCATT detoxes the body of heavy metals, improves oxygen transfer between capillaries and living tissue, boosts energy, destroys viruses, and upgrades the immune system.

Photo-Biomodulation Therapy or Red Light Therapy uses far and near-infrared light waves to increase the production of ATP, our energy currency. When each cell in our body produces more ATP, each cell works highly efficiently, resulting in healthier and younger-looking skin and higher performance from all of our organs.

PEMF Therapy (Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field Therapy) It is common for cells to slowly drain of energy throughout the day. PEMF therapy generates energy back into your cells without an invasive procedure which amplifies natural energy and encourages your body to function optimally.

Vasper Therapy Developed at the NASA Research Center; the Vasper tricks the body using compression cuffs combined with a workout into thinking more muscle requires repair. This triggers the body to release more testosterone and human growth hormone than needed which results in faster recovery and distribution of excess hormones to be utilized by the rest of the body.

Hydrogen Therapy  Hydrogen molecules are so small they can reach places other antioxidants cannot and specifically neutralize free radicals and prevent cells from undergoing oxidative stress, which is the main contributor to aging.

Mobility Using the essence of Brazilian jiu-jitsu, clients will learn how to be balanced, strong, and mobile from all angles and gain functionality.

Dry Sauna Experience increased metabolism, weight loss, increased blood circulation, pain reduction, anti-aging, skin rejuvenation, improved cardiovascular function, improved immune function, improved sleep, stress management, and relaxation.
