Andrew Gangi grew up in the real estate business. His mom, Antoinette, delved into a career as an agent over 30 years ago and soon became one of the top producers in northern New Jersey. She took a short break while raising her three boys; however, during the 2007-8 financial crisis, she jumped back into the business with both feet and hit the platinum sales level once again.
“I grew up learning the business from my mom and eventually joined her,” says Andrew. “I have memories of me and my brothers sitting at the kitchen table while my mom was on the phone, making dinner, and sealing deals—all simultaneously. I loved the fact that she was able to finalize transactions while she was cooking for her kids. I saw how she valued her client relationships, how she spoke to people, and dealt with other professionals in order to be successful.”
Andrew credits his mother for his strong work ethic, “I lead with hard work and guide people as if I were making the decision. I’m always available to my clients, no matter where I am or what I am doing. We place a high priority on relationships, and I’m glad to say that many of our clients have become friends. I’ve learned that it’s important to always be there for people.”
“My mom and I are yin and yang personalities, so to speak,” he says. While Antoinette models the traditional old-fashioned values of a 30-year career in real estate, Andrew contributes his unique cutting-edge style, strong marketing acumen, and expertise in technology to finding and selling homes for his clients.
My mom’s name, track record, and reputation gave me a significant leg up in the business, but that doesn’t exclude me from putting in the hours and a lot of hard work,” he says.
“Across the board, every aspect of what I do involves paying attention to detail,” says Andrew. His marketing game plan includes creating a custom website with videos, floor plans, and comprehensive descriptions for each property. He also posts the properties across several social media platforms. This ensures that his clients have all the tools they need to make the most informed decision possible. “All homes—no matter their price point—get that same attention,” says Andrew. “We also use realistic photo renderings to show how a home could look after it is renovated.” There is great value in this because rather than simply telling a client, ‘this house needs work,’ Andrew helps paint the picture as to what the investment—and the rewards--of a particular home can be.
Having lived in the Pascack Valley area his entire life, Andrew values his community connections. He now lives in Woodcliff Lake with his wife and two children. “My office is located in Woodcliff Lake on Tice Boulevard,” says Andrew. “I grew up in River Vale and now live in Woodcliff Lake. Many of my clients are here in town.”
Years ago, the Gangi family began collaborating with a food pantry in Paterson and established a toy drive for underprivileged children. “My parents would dress up as Santa and Mrs. Claus to deliver the gifts. Now at our company holiday party, everyone brings a toy, and I also have done collections of new and gently used toys throughout our community.” Andrew plans to continue the outreach and include his new hometown of Woodcliff Lake. Sports equipment, toys, strollers, car seats, books, and bassinets are all welcome donations. Please click on www.thetoysdrive.org for details.
“I try to lead with authenticity,” says Andrew. In real estate, and in life, I give back as much as possible. A real estate transaction may be one of the most important things in a person’s lifetime, so I take my responsibilities to heart by working hard.”
