When I started in corporate America, I hated my job. The only thing I looked forward to was movement. It began as a chore I dragged myself to after long days. Then it became a habit, a lifestyle and, in February 2025, a business: Ritual Hot Yoga on Highland Drive, where I share the thing that saved me. You’ve probably heard of triggers. A glimmer is the opposite: a small moment that makes your body feel safe, calm or lit up. The first sip of coffee. A perfectly timed song. Gratitude happens when you notice those glimmers and pour into them intentionally. I watch this happen daily at Ritual. Someone reserves one class. The music makes it fun. The community makes it social. The yoga strengthens the body, while mindfulness supports mental health. One class becomes a routine, and that routine becomes friendships that spill into a lifetime. Here are five ways to find your own glimmers: Move because you can. Movement is a thank-you note to the body that keeps showing up. Say the name. Text someone who made your week lighter. Ten seconds can change their day. Become a regular somewhere. Choose one place and time, then keep returning. Let music help. Create a playlist that reminds you how good it is to be alive. End with three. Record three specific things that made your day better. Find your glimmer and pour into it. It might become your whole life. Mine did.
