The Giving Season

Meet Morgan McGil

Morgan McGill of Buckhead has been acting professionally since she was eight years old when she booked her first SAG project, a national Chick-fil-A commercial.

"I have a really funny story about that!  Both of my parents played college sports at the University of Georgia- my dad was captain of the football team and my mom was captain of the tennis team. I have been raised to be a die-hard Dawg fan since birth!  For this commercial shoot, I had to play an Alabama fan. That requires some intense acting!  I have also booked national commercials for Cigna and Phillips and other regional commercials.  I booked my first network tv show on Reelz (playing a young Drew Barrymore on the Kitty Kelley Files), and most recently had the incredible opportunity to work with JJ Abrams, Misha Greene, and Jordan Peele on Lovecraft Country. I even made the trailer!  That was an incredible experience.  I am currently on hold for a supporting role in a feature film (I had to sign a NDA, so I can't say which one).  I am incredibly grateful for every opportunity that is given to me and for my acting coaches, agents, and manager that work so hard to make it happen!"

Fave place to Christmas shop nearby:

I love to shop! I think I take after my mom because it is one of my favorite hobbies!   Swoozies has really cool gifts for tweens.  I also buy birthday presents at Kazoo Toys- they have awesome STEM toys and things that you can't find just anywhere.  I also love the Sephora store on Peachtree Street for makeup and fun products.  Lately I've been obsessed with Alter'd State, American Eagle, and Hollister.

Fave holiday movie and tunes:

The Polar Express is my all-time favorite Christmas movie.  I almost have it memorized!  I also love Home Alone.   I got to watch it a couple of weeks ago for research because I had an audition and my character was based on Kevin McCallister.  I love the way Macaulay Culkin played him!  My favorite Christmas songs are Jingle Bell Rock, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and Silent Night.  On Christmas Eve, my church does a candlelight service and we light candles and sing Silent Night. It's a really nice tradition.

No holds barred Christmas party:

If I were having a Christmas party, I would definitely invite my favorite director Steven Spielberg and one of my really good friends Owen Vaccaro, who is also a local Atlanta actor and was in Daddy's Home and The House with a Clock in its Walls.  My favorite show is Stranger Things (just throwing it out there that I would love to work on it), so I would definitely invite Millie Bobby Brown.  Ava Max is an incredible singer and I love her songs and vocal range.  Tennis is my favorite sport to play, so I would definitely want Serena Williams and Roger Federer to be there.  They are the greatest tennis players in the history of the sport!

The giving season:

For the past four years, we have "adopted" a family through a wonderful organization called Giving Grace.  We buy clothes, toys, necessities, and gift cards, and also get to wrap all of the presents.  Animals have always held a very special place in my heart, and the last two years, my best friend Caitlin and I have raised money for Releash Atlanta. They help rescue dogs from high kill shelters around the state. I love that they save all breeds, including Pit Bulls, which have the highest rate of being euthanized.
